well Steen Racing in Norfolk has made some pretty good #'s wth Pi and Non-Pi heads, so it depends on how much you what to spend

Whats your budget thats the real question. If moneys tight a straight used Pi swap from a 99-04 GT will give you the better heads, intake and bump the compression up aswell. Or if you have more money you can add a set of aftermarket cams to the stock PI heads. On top of that you can get ported PI heads if you can afford that.

with that massive hood scoop you got in your sig why don't you save your cash and throw a 5.4 in it!

As Far as cost goes this is what i figure...

PI heads ~ 250-300 (Used)
PI Cams ~ 500 (New) Might be able to find some on the forum classified
Port The Heads ~ 500

Not sure how much you can find used PI heads for, but you can find used PI cams for around $100. Id say around $800 for port and polish.

i was talking about aftermarket cams though

i was quoted around 550 i think for a "street port" from kendrick automotive in san antonio, tx

there "racing port" was around 800 i believe

Yes that hood cowl would work great for the 5.4l swap!

Go over and read the forum......all 135+ pages LOL!

I'm building my 5.4l with Steen Racing NON-PI heads with PI cams. I choose NON-PI heads becuase I am supercharging it. Not looking to squeeze every drop out of it, but to have fun with the build!

Should run pretty good........my a$$! It will run wicked!

98greengoblin !

Look for a good used 5.4l with PI heads. If you want N/A power a stock 5.4l will do just fine. All of your bolt on's will work with the bigger engine. The only down fall will be the intake you have now. You should know that the stock NON-PI intake you have is very resticked. A new PI intake with a set of adapters to make up the width diffrence should work out fine.
start asking questions over at the 5.4l forum.
