Have you washed your engine recently or did you get water in the engine compartment??? Water down in the spark plug wells can short out the coils. I have been replacing a lot of coil packs at work over the last 3 years, they have a fairly high failure rate. If you have access to a scan tool check the PCM for codes. if you have a code p0301 through p0308 that will tell you which cylinder is misfiring the last digit of the code is the cylinder number. For example a code p0301 is for cyl 1 and a p0304 would be for cyl 4. coils are by far the number 1 cause of misfires on all Modular engines.

Hey Mike, could someone have a degraded coil pack such that the car runs fine on brand new plugs, but starts to miss after a few thousand miles? Then, new plugs seems to fix the problem, then the msss comes back again in a few thousand miles?

Yes that could be the problem. Does the plug look fouled when it starts to miss? If so the coil could be the problem.
