you will get the largest gains with long tubes. In many peoples opinion its not even worth it to install shorties

longtubes. shorties are a waste. you get about 7rwhp out of them. I got 17rwhp and 13rwtq out of my longtubes.

Kooks or American Racing Headers. They are big money though. Plan to pay over $1200 for their headers and matching x pipe. They are the best quality. You can also get BBK's for like $550, and then get an h or x pipe for like $150 and you'll see similar gains. The quality won't be as good, but you'll still get decent gains.

so then arh and kooks are big money? cool, what about x pipes or h pipes, do they depend on what headers you got or what? not to mention 5.4 swaps, with that ill need new headers right?

I have always seen Hookers to perform the best but they aren't completely street friendly (thin gauge tubing and two piece driver header doesn't help). Kooks are great, but expensive. If it were me, I'd get either Hookers or Kooks. However, the mid pipe depends on what the company offers in which usually an x-pipe is the only choice. For 5.4 engines, just wait, R3d is working w/ companies to put swap headers out.

I think SLP ceramic coated LT's are good quality and an excellent fit. They are what I installed on my car.

As said before though, install is not simple and you'll need to drop the K-member for install or pay someone else to install them for you. $$$

dropping the k member and hold the engine up a little and its easy to install them then. But if you down a cherry picker its going to be TOUGH. MAC longtubes on autos might need a little bending around the starter.

bbk's are just fine. Even if those others perform better it isn't much. a few hp difference? Not worth it for double the price of bbk's. The bbk's fitment and quality are great. 20hp is not worth 1200 bucks imo.

Getting the headers on your ride will mean you need a tune to go with it.

Not trying to shut you down, but to get the gains described, you will need to tune the car. I say this because of the other mods you have done.

You are "pegging" the stock tune.

The car will still run and most likly good, but you will be seeing a leaner condition in the upper rpm's.

Before you spend, include the tune cost.

I would do other mods and leave headers as last resort. LTs headers may cause issues on a lowered car. I went with midlength bassani as the LT hookers were too low.
