Ford Racing Cold Air
If I install this kit on my 2008 GT, will the warranty still be valid on the car?
|
Maybe, But I'd bet it wouldn't pass inspection. Not too sure about 08 models though.
|
It shouldn't since that's what Ford uses on stock Bullitts and Shelby GTs.
|
depends on the dealership, some will work wth you ob stuff like that and some will just be pricks about it......
|
Check with your dealer you brought it from and tell them you were going to buy it from them. Then get a price from Randy.

but i don't think it would get void. |
Is the dealership you use an SVT dealership? Randy would know much better than I, but I think they are a little better trained to deal with stangs. Also in my experience the SVT dealerships are much cooler about mods than non SVT.
Beside, adding a cold air intake won't void your entire warranty. If something goes wrong with the car and it's directly related to the aftermarket cold air intake then yes, they can void your warranty. But if you are having a suspension issue they can't void your warranty because you have a cold air intake. |
As I've said before, Ford can't void the warranty since they use the same kit as stock, OEM pieces in the Bullitt and Shelby GT Mustangs. If the dealer gives you problems, point this fact out to them since those cars leave the factory w/ them.

Maybe you can e mail Ford relations directly. That way you have a printed record of the response rather than "they told me on the phone a year ago"...
