Best Pipes For Me
I want a system that has a nice rumble at idle but roars when i open up the throttle. Does the Bassani, SLP or Flowmaster fall in this category? Also what if i just changed my mufflers for some Flowmaster 40s? What sound and performance should i expect?

With only mufflers dont expect much gains a catback is the way to go. As far as what sounds better its just personal taste. Listen to these sounds clips and decide.

I have flowmaster 40 series weld ins. They do sound nice during idle & WOT.. BUT they drone like crazy at highway speeds.

SLP is the sound you're looking for man!

If your future calls for replacing the complete exhaust ( like headers and a mid pipe) Buy a cat back that will sound good with future parts. I made the mistake by buying a cat back that sounded great with the stock headers and mid pipe ( Flowmaster American Thunder). Now I added a SLP catted X-pipe and it sounds too raspy and drones like crazy at 2000 RPM's. :hmh: If I had it all to do over again I would have ordered the SLP Loud Mouth.
Ps. If you want a slightly used Flowmaster Cat back system I have one!! |
I love my single chamber flows but it does drone at highway speeds or thats what my wife says :) The single chambers are pretty loud at wot and sound good at idle. Will eventually put on a o/r x or h and then it should be screaming :)
