Mustangtuning X-pipe

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Mustangtuning off road x. I was thinking about ordering it but want to know if its a good pipe that will give some good power. I have a flowmaster 40's and an automatic if that helps at all. Thanks.

I think there's a bunch of guys over at StangNet who got this. You may want to search their forum. I think there may even be a sound clip on there. It is supposed to be bad ass and sound great with flows. I'd get one but I want Stainless. I'm waiting for MT to start carrying the MagnaFlow Catted X.

Should work fine as long as you have a baffled muffler of some type. Don't add an o/r X when using resonators as you loose too much on the bottom and it is as loud as D Day.

Why thanks guys. Just did a search on Stangnet and read alot about this x pipe and decided to order it. I am on a budget and this sounds like a good deal.

If you didnt listen to the sound clips of it over on stangnet, do it. Youll be online ordering that pipe in no time flat if you listen to it. It sounds amazing and supposedly fits great and performs well. Good luck.

Speaking of X-pipes...

I've heard that Bassani X pipes are the easiest to install. How about those MT pipes? Anyone know? Thx

I have a mustang tuning o/r x-pipe on my 98 and love it wouldn't give it up for anything - awesome sound. :)

How easy are they to install?? I havent installed a midpipe before. Do I need to buy any extra gaskets?? And what tools are recommended?? Thanks.

Hardest part is the passenger side manifold bolts, spray with plenty of penetrating fluid, have about 18" worth of extentions and you should be good to go. You will need the gasket for the passenger side as well, get from local ford dealer, that is all.

Will you really lose that much?

Please explain.

are all the MT O/R X pipes made for 5 spd? or are there X pipes compatable for autos?

each pipe fits differently depending on your tranny...and im having a lot of trouble finding an O/R X for autos... anyone?????????

How much low end is lost with an o/r h. I've got a Mac Prochamber with flowmaster 40's and was considering it. What do you think?

So, since SLP's Loud Mouth system has a shotgun resonator, the o/r system would cause me to lose too much low-end HP/torque? Am I understanding you right?

Stanger35thGT 09-29-2004 04:03 PM

if you have SLP loudmouth...just get an O/R X if you want your car to be effin LOUD...

thats what i wanna do here pretty soon :D

2k3GT 09-29-2004 06:24 PM

How does the mustangtuning O/R X sound with magnapack catback setup? Anyone know?

Stanger35thGT 09-29-2004 07:11 PM

im not sure, i bet it would sound mean..

i have a friend with magnapack and Prochamber, it sounds nice...no rasp , just a good deep clean sound...

madmatt 10-02-2004 05:07 AM

Well, im not a big fan of the magnaflows but I heard a mustang with a UPR x pipe and magnaflows on stangnet and it didnt sound too bad. Im such a flowmaster guy though. :D

venom 10-02-2004 09:18 AM

I have a catted Bassani x with FLowmaster 2 chamber on stock pipes. I added a sound clip in the video section if you want to listen to it. Its not difficult if you have long enough extesions and apply wd40 to the bolts. The tought side to remove was a bolt on the passenger side exhaust manifold. I ended up routing a wrench through the kmember somewhere to break it loose as I could not get a good angle on it with my socket. Not only does it make your stang sound awesome but removes alot of weight as the stock ones are super heavy.
