son of a explative. Had to spend more money.

right after my last dyno run my Autometer AF gauge started going on the fritz. Constantly showing the same value of super rich or not showing anything at all. I checked the output of my Wideband setup and it's pushing just the right amount of voltage through and detecting the right AF ratio so I know the gauge is b0rked. I can't help but buy another gauge... need to know if it goes lean right.

I just went and bought myself one of these: http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...-blk-large.JPG

Cost me 90 bones at DynotuneNitrous.com. Got black bezel, white face and red LED instead of backlit LCD which sukz ballz

I'll run another voltage test on the autometer gauge after I pull it and replace it.

i hope this doesnt happen with my autometer A/F gauge.

r3dn3ck 12-05-2007 09:47 AM

Probably will. Do you use the wideband setup like I do or just the narrowband?

stanger00 12-05-2007 02:11 PM

im about to order the LC-1 kit. looks like i will look into a complete wide band kit with gauge.

The LC1 kit can come with a gauge. Go to www.dynotunenitrous.com and get it there. Best price going, cheap shipping, and they have fat deals with gauges included with the LC-1.

Or, you can use your autometer till it breaks (could be a long time...mine's secondhand) and then buy a gauge that's better suited.

just about everyone is selling the LC-1 kit for 200 bucks. i would like the digital read out for ease of quick reading. i have the autometer in my car just sitting in the pod its not hooked up to the computer.

i see that the setup you have is 30 bucks off.

you have me looking on the google now for the best deals. i made my way over to ebay. now, if i use ebay most people ship UPS which is a no go for APO so i have to pay another shipping fee which brings my cost up to what i would be saving from a company that would ship USPS for me.

now these LC-1 kits dont record RPMs. is that a issue with tuning using sct's pro race software or is it pretty obvious.

r3dn3ck 12-05-2007 03:27 PM

you can use the analog output on the LC-1 or LM-1 and actually input that into the serial port on the XCal-2 so it can be datalogged realtime with all the other ECU parameters. It's a little more involved and requires a special cable but it does work. FWIW... I always use the dyno's O2 setup for realtime logging during tuning exercises and mine in the car with the SCT live link setup so I can watch the AF and all the other stuff on their own custom pretty dials. In that way my gauge is more of a check against theirs and something for daily monitoring.

stanger00 12-05-2007 04:31 PM

i started reading some things on SCT forums and its starting to clear up a little bit. i saw the write-up for hooking the LC-1/LM-1 to the xcal. i see how you do it. a lot of poeple do this on dynos and record certain parameters and email the data to their tuners. you just use the live link and later make adjustments with your pro race software. than load it to the x-cal than put the tune in your car and test it out. sounds cut and dry but there are lots of other things to look at as well. im sure i can hack this out. my car has good tunes but they are locked and i dont know if that will be a problem. i read that i will lose these tunes that are on the x-cal i didnt get to deep into it.

i would use dyno's out here but the echange rate is pretty bad so a 50 EURO hour time on the dyno is like 100 bucks.

your thread was post whored

that's how I get data to Amazon when I need help on my tunes. PRP kit and LC-1 is killer for that.

stanger00 12-06-2007 07:58 AM

i just ordered the LC-1 and i found a 9 pin connector in a box so i can rig up the meter to data log with the live link. i will eventually get the PRP but ima see if modularpowerhouse can fix some tunes. my converter unlocks in 3rd gear at WOT around 5300 rpms. strange thing is that i picked up 5 m.p.h on my quarter traps after the converter swap.

i cant wait to work on this friggin car and fix some of the bugs.
