Ok, I previously had my SES light on, and the codes it was pulling was
P1131 Manufacturer Control Fuel Air Metering P1151 Manufacturer Control Fuel Air Metering. which according to the Ford OBD-II Guide is P1131 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 1. P1151 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 2. So I replaced both front oxygen sensors, disconnected the battery for 15 minutes, and then reconnected. At first my light was off...but now it came back on and I am getting the same codes again. It idles weird, when I first start it up it runs at like 1,200 rpms, then goes to 900, then after a few minutes either goes below 650 rmps, or fluctuates up to 1,500 rpms. I've already driven it a 100 miles, and the light still hasn't gone off. I have no clue what else to do, and I don't have the money to take it to the dealership and let them look at it...any ideas? Did you get the right sensors? I believe Ford was dick and put different versions on different years in which you must use the same version. When you replaced them, were they the same color as the old ones? Do you have a vacuum/exhaust leak somewhere?

never mind, i took it to a mechanic today, and he figured out.
faulty PCV Valve hose. (had a big hole in it! see pic attached). Also my dumb ass forgot to tighten down my clamp that sits after the MAF Sensor when I changed my air filter on Labor Day weekend...so i had 2 vacuum leaks causing the problem. she idles beautifully now...purrs like a kitten!! |
