head install price

Just testing the waters, but wanted to see if anyone knows the average cost to get a set of heads installed? Preferably any experience in Cali, but anywhere will do fine. I do have headers so I'm assuming that would raise the price.

figure about 600-800 bones. It's not hard. I'll loan you my tools if you want to do it yourself.

you should ask my neighbor. He'd probably do it in the driveway at his place for a few hundred.

Thats not bad at all. I was just wondering cause I'm thinking about purchasing a set of stage 2 port and polished heads with cams already installed. Now another question. I've checked but havent really seen a straight answer, what years have the Windsor and what years have the Romeo? The heads are windsor heads and I have a 2000. Also, R3d, is the shortblock you have Windsor or Romeo. Thanks..

You probably have Windsor. Just check the valve covers on your car. If they use 13 bolts, it's Windsor. Still not convinced? Look for a giant W on the block.

If you dont need the car for a lil while I would just DIY. I am sure the guys on here will help you out. Its really not that hard.:boink:

I'll help you do the swap... If you have a garage that's best. I have all the tools we'll need.

My block is a modular...there's no real windosor/romeo for them. However it was put together at the windsor plant and had windsor heads originally. If you want we could just slap together a longblock over here at my place and you can have it installed whenever you want. It'll be a brand spanking new motor at that point.

If you buy the heads and cams assembled then it's bonehead easy to put the rest together. I hate doing cam installs cuz the followers are a PITA. Getting the timing right is the easy part.

Well I just need to slap some money together and hopegully get the heads/cams by august. The cams are already assembled in the heads. The heads are coming from the guy on this board with the 700hp yellow stang. If everything works out the way I would like, then r3d I would love to just slap the longblock together and then I can take it somewhere for install. I'll let you know how things go.
