stang not running smooth

Just have a quick question.....my car has had a slight bogging/studdering feel(almost like a slight misfire every once in a while) when I maintain a constant cruizing rpm level. I replaced the plugs, pcv valve, fuel filter, cleaned the air filter, and I still get the same problem. Its not real bad but any advice would be great. Also all spark plugs were greyish in color as they should be with the exception of #5 which had fresh oil on it. Thanks..Brad

well if nobody has ever had bogging problems with there cars or wants to post there thoughts, at least tell me how I can delete the post so I wont feel like an idiot with a dumb question.....

Is the ac on when it happens? If it is then it's probably "stuttering" when the compressor kicks on and off.

Other than that check all your vaccuum lines and if you've had the T/B or Plenum off check the torque on them. A slight vaccuum leak could cause something like what you're describing to happen...

well...i remember reading a while back in quite a few posts that people that wash their engine at a car wash with the pressure washer is a no-no. The water can get in your plugs/boots and can cause the engine to bog down or feel like a mis-fire but usually at idle. Try taking off your boots and see if there is water down in there...blow it out with a air compressor too...that might help you.

I have noticed my o3 doing the same thing. So I changed the fuel filter. That didn't help. Maybe time for the plugs and such like you have done.
I have a 2001 F150 w/the 5.4 that started doing this same thing but got worse very rapidly and ended up making the truck "buck" while accelerating slightly. That ended up just being a bad coil on #7. There was a misfire code stored in the computer but no check engine light. Guys at auto zone plugged in the handheld reader and told me what it was pretty quickly. You might try that and get lucky. Thats all I got.

i was having a similar problem this past thursday...i was cruising and everytime i would get to 40-45mph my car would start hesitating/stuttering...i was thinking spark plugs because smart me has hit the rev limiter twice with nitrous at the track and thought they might need a change(which they still might do)...anyways,i got to the local hangout and moved around this little black rubber piece i had made for my plenum when i installed it, since that plastic line didnt fit on the plenum hose...well turns out it was loose and i just fixed it and BAM no more stuttering..so i guess it was a vacuum leak...this is what im talking about(my problem on the stuttering)

so like others said check for any vacuum leaks,coils,etc...

I had the same problem and changing the plug boot insulators will solve your problems, $4.99 ea at autozone with a lifetime warranty. I just did mine today... problem solved.
