air fuel gauge kit

what is the best A/F kit that allows me to datalog with my Xcal2.

r3dn3ck 06-15-2007 10:27 AM

Innovate Motorsports LM1.

I see how it would connect to the Xcal. with the LM1 and the Xcal am I able to tune the A/F myself or would I still need to send the info. to my tuner.

r3dn3ck 06-15-2007 11:43 AM

you'll be able to tune it to a point but only as much variance as was put in your tune file to start with. It's better to not have to tinker with it with a handheld since there's only limited adjustability in the best of cases.

I use the Xcal2 along with my SCT Advantage 3 software from the Pro-Racer kit and do all my own tuning. It's not hard and with the Xcal you still have an xcal but you can tune it as many times as you like for free....

Pro-Racer kit comes with everything except the AF guage and will allow you to tune any parameter right out of the box. I love it. You gotta know your limits though... smoke an engine and it's your own fault.

I was looking in to the proracer package. if I was to get that would I need to get the auxbox with the LM1.
Also do you know if I can get the software anywhere for less then 375.

MattJ 06-15-2007 04:23 PM

375 is the handheld tuner alone.

r1ckyb0nd 06-15-2007 04:31 PM

I have the XCal2 already I would just need the software.

r3dn3ck 06-16-2007 08:10 AM

you need the software and a USB key to use it. 375 is about the best price you're going to get. Take it.

The LM1 kit can datalog the AF and 5 other parameters right out of the box. The Xcal2 doesn't directly datalog... the Live Wire package from SCT is the datalogger. You connect your xcal from the car to your laptop in order to allow the Live Wire software to see the input signals. The Xcal is just a lens so to speak.

ok I have a tune file on my Xcal from my tuner, If I get the advantage pro software will I be able to get that file off my programmer and use it, or would I need to start over?

r3dn3ck 06-16-2007 05:11 PM

dunno... you'll have to check with SCT about that. I've only ever gone the opposite direction.

375 where?

r3dn3ck 06-27-2007 08:25 AM

if he already has the handheld I'd imagine he should be able to use that and just buy the software and license... which should be about half the cost. I got my whole SCT setup for 600.

r3dn3ck 06-27-2007 08:47 AM

call up my buddies Ed or Twinkie at valayaracing.com and tell them r3dn3ck sent you. They'll hook you up as well as anyone will be able to.
