4v heads?
is it worth doing heads on a 4v? the seem rather expensive just for the bare heads..am i better off sending out the stock heads?

porting a set of 4v heads plus valve seats and all the other details will cost about as much as getting a complete set... bite the bullet.
|
That blows. I've been thinking about that myself. Just hate to spend $2200.
|
especially when you can get a shortblock w/forged internals for that price
|
you should be able to find a decent set of ported B heads on the corral... I see em up there pretty regularly. Pony up with a grand and you should be able to find someone that needs money more than heads.
|
what about mach 1 or 99-04 cobra take offs? im assuming i would also need the intake
|
yep... possibly a front cover too but I'm not up to date on my 4v's.

availability would be the only useful excuse for going from B's to newer type. I've seen higher flow numbers for B heads than for C's in ported form.

Yes but,the 4V responds better to changes in duration then lift. lots of the flow numbers you see are rated at .600 and you'll never see more then .500 lift on street cams, few race only cams.

I still want to know what the corral thing is r3dn3ck.

go to the classified, parts section, modular engine parts, and lookie around. There's always a set of 4v heads for sale.. usually cheap.
