bbk underdrive pulleys?

i bought bbk underdrive pulleys 3 months ago. and now my water pump froze up. but the car has 150,000 miles on it. i thought i had the short water pump but i have the long water pump. did i get the wrong pullies? part # 1555 . the bbk number?

Those are the right ones but the bbk piggy back style pulleys are crap and may have done it in for your water pump. I have the same ones sitting in my closet and I refuse to install them.

pullies are a disaster waiting to happen. You reduce cooling and reduce alternator power to gain 5hp... no thanks.

Had BBk's on my old GT for almost three years and there on my cobra, was when I bought it, and never had a problem.

stock pully user here. On the dyno I've only ever seen tiny gains from em. Not worth the price of admission.

+1 to that

There is a group of guys here at work that race Saturn’s, they were going to make a group purchase of underdrive pulleys. Being the engineers that we are they decided to see if it was really worth it so they dyno'd several of there Saturn’s without the drive belts. They only saw an average of 1.5hp difference without the belt and decided it was not worth it. I know they are Saturn’s with different engines and all but they showed that the power steering, alt, and other accessories did not take much to run which is probably the same for just about any car.

Pulleys are not worth it. Seen only minimal gains of less than 3hp on the dyno. Better off putting the money somewhere else like gears or a shifter.
