be careful and you can reuse the gaskets. they're rubber and can tear but if you're nice about it they're not a problem. enjoy.

the only thing you can do by only taking the covers off is a cam swap, and its not easy. For the nay sayers you can do a cam swap with the front cover still on if you use the AFM tool. Only cars with screwed on cam gears can do that though. I forget the years you can do that.

Windsor engines are the only only ones w/ the press on gears so only 96-98 and 01+ can do that.

so if you can do cams without taking the front cover off you should be able to do heads too without taking the front cover off correct. just a couple more bolts right???

no if you want to swap heads the front cover has to come off. I was just making a point that there is no easy mod you can do under the valve cover.

there is about dik you can do with the covers off short of a cam swap. You can pull all the lash adjusters and slap some .010 shims under em... probably get PTV contact but you asked for anything so there you go.

FYI... don't. You'll destroy your engine.
