FRPP Headers?

Are the ceramic FRPP headers for my Bullitt good quality headers? I wanna get the shorty ceramics, but i wanna know what kind apower gains i should expect....please don't tell me to buy longtubes i just wanna know if these are good headers and what kinda benefits they will provide if any?

Those are the ones im going with. Id say that FRPP has great quality. I have seen a set of FRPP shortys and they looked great. I dont like longtubes either. Probably wont gain much more than 5-10hp but it should make it sound alot better and run more efficient.

I always hear..."go with long tube headers or dont bother"

Randy Stinchcomb 03-28-2007 07:46 AM

well...........

I saw @ a 10 HP gain wth them on my 1996 Gt when I had a "stock block" in it and we did have problems wth the headers cracking.
the cracks all were in the area where the round tube met the header flange, this was @ 6 years ago and frpp warranted all 5 bad sets we sold.

I do not know if they have corrected this problem because we do not sell Frpp anymore.

I am currently running a set of ceramic coated FRPP headers on my motor. They have really been good for the car. I say go with them. I got lucky and found someone who had never installed them on their car and only ended up paying about $240 with shipping. My only real complaint is there was a lot of welding wire and stuff on the inside of the headers. I should have had them polished inside prior but didn't. FRPP makes a good part. :postwhore:

I put these on my car at one point.

Sound was a bit less deep (I had an offroad X and catback prior), which I did not like.

I dropped 0.10 at the track, but that could also be due to the fact that the temps were 40º colder then when i ran last, or that my 60 foot time was 0.1 better due to better track conditions (traction)

The quality seemed to be allright, nothign to write home about and definatly nothing worth close to $300. I paid $180 for mine new on ebay.

The design, sucked. The runners did not line up to the exhaust ports, the welds were horrible, there was welding slag all over the place, it was just a big pile of crap. The driver side header I believe, looks very much like a stock manifold thats been ceramic coated.

Here are some pics of my experience, sorry for the large pics. I tried to shrink them with HTML but it was disabled.

You'll probably get better gains from the BBK shorties.

How hard was the install, did you drop the K-member or raise the engine?

If your asking me, I dropped the K member.

Actually I replaced the K member with an aftermarket tubular at the time.

It took us about 6 hours of work, spread out over 4 days because we were doing many things at once.

I've dropped the K member at least 5 times on my car, its so simple to do now that I know how.

I didnt gain much from mine but they fit great been on for about 2 years never had any problems with them bolts coming loose or cracks etc;

So would you guys reccomend the BBK Ceramic shorties or the FRPP Ceramic shorties? Both i've heard mixed reviews on, bu twhich of the two should i go with? I know i won't gain a lot of power, but it is the last component of my exhaust missing and if i can pick up 6hp or so and not lose any torque i will be satisfied!

I have BBK shorties. They are decent. If I were to do it again, id go with basanni because of their collector design. shorties really arent worth it unless you get a steal on them plus install for CHEAP. I paid 400 for brand new headers, AND install with an xpipe too. thats the only reason I even have headers.

White04GT 03-29-2007 06:42 PM

I got Bassani's and love them.

usscrp 03-29-2007 07:02 PM

ok quick question on the bassani, not to steal the thread but where to get them all i have found is the equal length or mid length.
