imrc deleting and injector question

i have heard u can delete the imrc.u will lose bottom end but gain hp.i have 4.10 gears and i have purchased programmer so it can be changed. it goes on dyno next week. is this a good idea or is it a problem? is there anything else i should consider? i dont know if my injectors are stock. its a ford denso f55e-a2e ,what size are they? 98 cobra 4.6 4v thanks for any input

Your injectors are stock. The IMRCs can be sucessfully deleted with a proper tune. Be aware that the EEC adds a lot of spark when they open, so before flipping the switch in the software, take note of the IMRC spark adders and add those values to the corresponding tables in the main spark section. Also change the load_failed_MAF table to reflect the values in the load_failed_MAF_IMRCs_open table. And if you can find a way to clean all the crap out of the secondary intake port/bowl, it will only help power output.

what wheat said.

hey wheat... I'm trying to debug a tuning issue. When I'm closed throttle decelerating with heavy braking the RPM's drop to 400 or lower then pick back up. That drops the vacuum pumps output and makes the brakes and steering harder to engage/use. I know it's an IAC function change but I can't seem to find the value. Also... is there any reason to actually change the value for TP@WOT?

Well you may start by raising the dashpot clip and/or slowing the decay rate. TP for WOT allows you to change the throttle angle that the PCM will use to recognize WOT; most times I don't really mess with this. For a road-race car, or one with a PD blower, I do lower fuel open loop TP.

I have mine deleted and its OK since a power adder will go on shortly. If you plan on adding some kind of forced induction I would delete them if not just clean them out as you will notice a difference.
