radiator fan won't kick on
i finished my pi intake swap. i filled it up with water and ran it up to temp to kind of flush out the cooling system. my gauge rose up to where it normally runs when warmed up but the radiator fan won't kick on. at what temp does the fan usually kick on? i'm not throwing any codes as of yet but the engine compartment just seems to be to warm for the fan not to kick on. the heater vents on the inside are blowing hot air. i already checked the fan fuse. anyone know why the fan wont kick on or is this normal?

try unplugging the temperature sensor by the thermostat and see if it comes on..usually that will force the fan to come on automatically...thats how i have mine right now because mine woudlnt work...so mine just runs constantly..

well i unplugged the sensor and the fan kicked on and naturally the check engine light came on. so i was happy that the fan works. i shut it off and go to restart it and it doesnt start. plug the sensor back in and it starts fine. so for some reason that sensor affects if it will start or not. dunno still tryin to figure this shit out.:flameON:

alright well it will start now without the sensor plugged in. what temp does your car usually run at? mine runs at about the C for cold mark and only riases when i get on it. but then it will cool down to the C for cold mark again. just wondering if yours runs at the same temp.

Mine has always been smack dab in the middle between C and H. Thats the way most cars are.

well i put a 180* stat in mine and my car has the guage that reads "normal" in an arc dunno if its cuz its a 96 or what but it does...and mine gets to about the O and thats about it

my fan wouldnt kick on at first after my cam install, but then it started to work i duno wat was up with it
|
Does it kick on when you turn on your AC?
|
i think i got her figured about. something with the temp sensor. replaced it and works fine.

Same here lucky to get past the O in normal.

Help!
I unplugged the heat sensor and checked all the fuses and my dad bridged the fan out and it does run. I have a 2006 Ford mustang. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
