Is it true that 75mm Plemum /TB is a waste when put on Stangs that are not heavily modified?

no tune needed but make sure you reset the computer when you install them, i disconnected the battery but it didnt reset the computer so when i started up my car idled at 2500 rpm and didnt go down until driven 75 miles (i put a hose clamp on the return line from the IAC resinator to the intake tube and cranked it down until it lowered the rpms). just a word of advice if youre doing it yourself. i dont have enough mods to notice a big gain in hp but there was a small noticable difference.

Well what’s your goal really? If you plan to mod the heck out of your car eventually you will need a tuner. On my automatic my SCT Xcalibrator made the difference between night and day. More so then when I added my Accufab 75 mm TB and Plenum with CAI. You will also need the tuner if you add gear to your car (if you have an automatic) to fix your speedometer. You can also shut off your rear 02 sensors off if you have an off-road midpipe so you don’t have to buy MILs.

My vote goes to getting an SCT XCalibrator

-You can advance your timing … no need for a separate timing adjuster
-Fix speedometer for gear change … no need for speedcal (if you have manual tranny; for automatic transmissions a tuner is a must to flash your computer, can’t use speedcal on an auto)
-Shut off rear 02 sensors for off road midpipe … No need to buy MILs

There are just so many advantages to having one

Id say do the Xcalibrator. Then get a tune, but first, if you dont already have 4.10s or at least 3.73s, get those first. They should be first before ANYTHING else. Then with the Xcalibrator, you can get the speedo fixed for them. I didnt feel too much difference other than above 3500rpm with my accufab combo, but I got them at a price I couldnt pass up.

I suggest that you get a C&L Plenum with the 75mm Accufab... This combination has been shown to produce the best results...
Any other plenum and you should use a 70mm TB unless you have boost.
You will not need a tune with these mods.
The K&N is a good, easy, fairly inexpensive mod but it's only worth a couple of hp.
What year/trim(GT, Cobra, V6...) is your stang?

I have a 2002 GT no supercharger...are you saying that for my setup, I should use the C&L plenum with a 70mm or 75mm Accufab TB
I found a pretty damn good deal.

Accufab plenum & Accufab 70mm Throttle Body is teh best. Why? cause i said so. get that setup...no need for the 75mm unless you are getting a B.J

if your going to supercharger it then the tb and plemun is a good start... there will be a little add in power... more so when u charge it.. unless your goin to get in to the internals of the motor 70 will work just fine.. same with 75.. either with do fine with it.. ...

the guy about the ecu reset... did u take the connection off for longer then 45sec to a min? if not that might be why... if i remeber right to reset the ecu u have to take it off for around a min.

just my advice if your goin to get a dyno tune.. dont waste your money on a flash.... it cost around the same as a dyno tune... well in atl... and the way the dyno guy explaned it to me was this... your can pay 400 (perd flasher.. which is what i was goin to get) and 75 for the dyno runs to see how the flasher did.. or you can drop off the car they will dyno it and tune it there... instead of having some guy behind a desk set up programs..... they will be right there with your car...

Thanks For The Help. My Car Is A 02 Gt With Auto. I Have Just Recieved My 4.10's And Mac H Pipe With Mac Catback. I Was Going To Order The Sct Anyway Because Of The Gears. Should I Just Do Everything At Once And Then Get A Dyno Tune Or Get The Sct.

well your can just wait.. your speed will be off like crazy with the gears. i may be wrong i just dont like the idea of buying a flash to go back and dyno tune. moneys tight. its all in what u desided i hear the chip were really good. if u desided to do the gear and u get them installed... go and buy a speedo gear and have them install it. that will fix that isuee.

I went half a year with 3.73 gears and no adjustment for the speedometer. I got use to it.

I had an SCT chip with a mail order tune on mine it ran very well. In fact I dropped from a 13.09 to 12.89 with just the tune. I also picked up a couple of miles per hour in trap speed. 3 weeks ago I had it retuned on a dyno and road test. You almost have to have your tuner ride with you and datalog to get a really good tune with an automatic. It is the only way to get the shift points set properly. They are alot harder in that respect than a manual. Also on an 02 automatic the only way to correct for a gear change is with a tune, they have no speedo gear and a speed cal will not work on them.
