The ford owners manual says 6 quarts, so thats what Ive always put in it. I have always used motorcraft 5w-20, but the vortech manual says to use 5w-30 fully synthetic. Im switching to royal purple next oil change, even if it is over $7 a quart

6. 8 for me with an oil cooler. Royal purple is a serious investment for me.

You're not supposed to use synthetic with a supercharger. It causes blow by.

My 96 has always taken 6 quarts and with even the new motor rebuild it took about 6 1/4 for it. Mobil one filters and either mobil one synthetic or Royal purple ($4.95 a quart here) or amsoil and amsoil filters. It depends how rich I am feeling. Just remember Royal Purple and Amsoil will find every little place to drip from in a motor with some well worn miles. I never had an oil leak with my first motor even with full synthetics until I switched to Amsoil. Be carefull.
