Good Idea?

I found this on ebay... Was wondering....
Instead of building a motor... I could just buy this engine...

IMO, 4K is a lot og money for a stock engine 2V....for that money the build up of yours would be very nice. Yeah it does have a supercharger, but it is still a stock motor

and also, if you wanted an engine complete with 330hp, buy a newer 4v, put headers, tb, udp's and a good tune with some gears and you will have a ton of HP all the time

1)why is the valve cover off

that is all

I wouldn't do it, but that's just MHO. You'd be better off building your own engine for the application you want.

If it is a legitimate E series engine, then it is built from Saleen. It has the higher strength internals to cope with the extra HP the S281E has versus the S281 s/c.

However I would have figured an S281E would have made more power than 310 to the tires seeing as how they were rated at like 425hp or something around there. That is over 20% drive train loss.

13.10 in a 3300lb Mustang? My car weighs 3300lbs.....hmmmm, I could buy that and slow down. That motor is a piece of crap. Its a stock 2V motor with a Saleen blower....Saleen Cams??? It doesn't even have a Cobra crank...its a 6 bolt crank. For $4000 you can get a very nice built shortblock and run stock heads that will make equivalent crank hp.
