to somewhat answer your question....
I have heard good things about Auborn...another good Differential would be the Eaton Posi units. Either or will be good...

if u want a strong rear...get the following parts

*Ford T-Lok
*FRPP 31 Spline Axel
*Ford Racing Girdle
*Any One of These kits or FRPP Gears (if u already have the Tuner)

thats the exact setup im getting...its also the same as 40thblckgt's setup too

you could also throw in a Powertrax locker. It replaces the clutches and spider gears (you don't even have to pull the carrier to get it in) and you end up with a very strong detroit locker. The ratcheting action has been really quieted down but there is still some. The upshot is full traction to both tires without being a spool. They're quite strong.

Other than that, eaton, auburn, Torsen, 31sp T-Lok are all fine. I like the T-lock less than any other LSD but it's still a decent unit on its own merits.

huudoo, yes that's a great price for gears and install. If you're not going to be putting giant power down or doing lots of hard launches, then just do the gears and save the axle money for when you need it.

If you've got a hardon to do axles then moser or superior axles are quite nice and they're no extra labor to put in.

I'm sure I don't have to remind you that you can still frag an Eaton diff wtih hard launching. Otherwise, sounds like you're about ready to start making some really killer times.

I just bought a new 31 spline t lok with carbon clutches and new 31 spline frpp axles for under $500 total. An eaton is over 400 by iteslf, granted it is a better unit but imo not that much better.

yeah...kind of a bummer that you end up nearly doubling the cost for a 25% bump in performance but, that's life. You got to pay to play.

I dont think the Eaton is any better then the Ford unit. Plus Im auto so even though Im launching off a 100 shot with a 3500 stall, Im still not shocking the rear end like you 5 speed guys and 5k+ launches.
