rediculous. thanks for the heads up, ill steer clear.

Wow, ridiculous. I'll stay clear as well. It's a shame that Edelbrock or Trick Flow or some reputable company doesn't make one for us.

MattJ 07-29-2006 03:15 PM

This doesnt come to suprise me. To date there hasnt been an intake for us 2v owners worthy of getting besides the p51 and the bullitt. Even in 550+ hp applications you are seeing drops in power numbers from oem to aftermarket. Word on the street is, that trickflow is coming out with one and the trickflow on the 5 litre is awesome, so in time, well see if it comes out for us 2v owners and how the product measures up.

Edlebrock is also designing one for the 2v

Just saw that thread on MPH, what a surprise.

I noticed that about the GT's. Nobody has really made an awesome intake manifold for the 2v's yet.

incorrect... www.hiperformancesolutions.com makes a badass breath box. I can't wait to test it.

Looks like a manufacturing defect on the one in the link. Return it to PP and they'll send you a new one. I find it odd that so many people are buying the PP intake when there's a slew of them about to hit the market from several manufacturers. This is like the 3rd one I've seen a write up on.

Im about to test the HPS intake + a 75mm throttle body/plenum. Im waiting for it to come in.

check out this 2v intake... http://www.reichardracing.com/46liter_intake.php ... haven't seen it on any cars around or any magazine or anything but it looks pretty cool

I have seen that intake on a bunch of twin turbo mustangs.

madmatt 08-01-2006 07:28 AM

The Reichard has been through a lot of testing, and IMO, isnt worth the money either unless its a super high HP car.

r3dn3ck 08-01-2006 08:09 AM

RR's intake has been around a while and well tested. It's a blower/turbo intake. NA gains were nothing to write home about. IT's well worth the money, hell it's hand made in the USA but, it's indeed expensive and has limited utility on NA 2V cars.

Yeah, just look at the dyno sheet. The car they dyno already has +500

r3dn3ck 08-01-2006 08:53 AM

If you bump the cams on a 2v 4.6 to something better than stock, then the RR intake shows good gains (nothing spectacular but nice) even on a NA car. With stock cams in a 2v motor, the intake isn't a point of restriction so gains are 0-very little. Match your components.

In the Nov or Dec 2004 5.0 mag, they stuck one of the reichard racing prototypes on the 5.4 2v swap they did, it gained like 27HP and 27TQ to the wheels, gained the most from mid to top end.
