Question Transmission Help.

Hi, This is my first post.I'm having trouble with my transmission.I own a 2003 Gt with a Tr-3650 Tranny. Some reason Second gear no longer works. It just grinds after you put it in gear and let off the clutch.Well being my only ride I do miss second gear.My questions are.. Is second gear broken are did the synchros go out in that gear? Also should i just get the tranny rebuilt or go with a new one like a tko 500/600?Any sugestions and commits are welcome..thx for all that have read.

There is a TSB out for grinding and problem with our tranny they have a rebuild kit for them that is free if you still have warrenty on the car.

Yeah you better hope you have a warrenty still. Get it in ASAP and even if you are just outside of the warrenty, you might get lucky. The 3650 is a great tranny but some got through that had problems like you are experiencing.

Nope..No more warranty.Bought it "as is".So what do you guys think?I know that I've always heard that once you have someone work on the transmission it's never as reliable as it used to be.Of course I know that it depends on the person(s) who does the work. But what I would like to know is what would you guys do if it was you?And what does this kit at the dealership? What does it replace?. thx

Yup at BMW we do all kinds of TSB work on cars no matter how old they are. Free of charge. The manufacturer knows they f'ed up...Ford should step up and fix that for you.

dealerships can give you an after warranty adjustment. ford gives out 2 repairs after a car is out of warranty.... this should qualify for a reapir but moght cost you 20% of the repairs... the repair may cost 650.00 for that tsb
g/l bro

technical service bulliten. tells the techs working on your car to look for a possible issue with whatever subject it covers and make repairs if necessary. Not a recall but close.
