Problem after install
I just got my longtube headers, h-pipe and driveshaft installed today. For some reason it is hard to turn my steering wheel<<<<????
Any suggestions on what this is? Also does anyone know how to install an intake manifold? I recently purchased the HPS one and wondered if it was hard to install. |
That rubber thing on your steering shaft is rubbing on the header. Intake manifolds are easy to install. Basically, just unbolt the stock one and replace it with the new one.
|
+1 to both counts.
There are gobs of intake install how-to's smattered about the interweb. Google one and you'll find it pretty quick. It's not hard... not even a little bit. |
Ive still got to do the write up for my Bullitt intake install.

intake manifold is cake--one of the most important pieces of info you could find for yourself or the torque specifications and the order in which to torque the bolts down
|
Good point, 96gtstang. Make sure you get all that info. Ill have it on my site one of these days.
|
It's all measured in inch-pounds so if it's an aluminum intake, good-n-snug should be fine. Don't over tighten but get them good and snug. Tq to exact specs is still best but that's always an option.
|
So it just bolts on like factory?
|
Yes, but you need to make sure you torque the bolts in the right order so the intake will seal.
|
inside to outside on the order isn't it? But yes, it's a direct replacement for the stocker.

Sucks being right all the time. Killer post though. Thanks 03 for posting that. And it looks like I stand corrected... 18lb-ft, which is 216lb-in... a little more than you're likely to find on a in-lb torque wrench.

If you look in the "Installing Cams Yourself?" sticky in this forum then youll see a bunch of other diagrams that I posted.
