Mixing exhaustparts from dif brands?!

I have another question for you :).
I am going to upgrade the exaust-system on my coming fifth generation Mustang. And I dont whant it superloud! Iam going to buy full length headrs, probably the ones from BBK since they are cheaper. But I have only found one short midpart (to go along with the full lenght header) on MT.com ( http://www.mustangtuning.com/muslpshxc96.html ) and thats SLP:s. I dont whant only SLP:s stuff, since from what I have read, that would make it really loud. Could I use SLP:s midpart with a catback system from another brand? Or would that not fit?

Catbacks are the main source of the way your car sounds. You can mix and match most setups with minimal fitment issues. I have BBK headers, SLP xpipe, and xlerator catback on mine.

well put!

but the LM2's are nicer and have a little bit of tone :)

like Matt said.. the catback is generally what gives the exhaust its tone. I have SLP LT's, SLP O/R X-pipe, and a Steeda catback.. and it sounds nothing like cars with SLP cat-backs.. :)

yep..like said above...if u go w/ an slp Loudmouth cat back..it will be loud...Loudmouth 2 catback will be less earpeircing and have a better tone...kinda like teh magnapacks...

get the bbk h pipe if u want a thoaty, muscleish car sound....an x pipe if u want an exotic, not muscle sound...both will sound good...just dont get teh bbk x pipe..

the slp headers are amazing...fit and quality...but a bit expensive

sums its up...

but dont hate on the bbk x pipe...its not a bad x, its just more raspy than alot of the others...it still sounds good...WHY does everyone hate on the bbk x

would SLP Headers bolt up onto a Bassani O/R X pipe?
