which x pipe to use

which x pipe should i use with the slp loudmouth exhuast.i have heard either the slp x pipe or bassani or magnoflow :pottytrai

spike_africa 03-29-2005 10:41 AM

an x-pipe is an x-pipe, get whatever you want.

What he said, yeah it's nice to have a Bassani, but I wouldn't fork out twice the $$$$ when you can get pretty much the same thing here for 165 bucks

Islander03GT 03-29-2005 02:18 PM

SLP, its the best bang for the buck.

venom 03-29-2005 04:32 PM

I have a Bassani but I would get the SLP since you have more options due to the modular design.

I just received a Mac X-pipe today,I ordered it monday from WWW.BRENSPEED.COM. The Mac pipe comes in 3 sections and hardware and gaskets are included. The pipes are all coated with a black colored rust protectant and are priced very resonable with free shipping from Brenspeed.

just a side note for you, MAC does not make x-pipes, i ordered from them as well but it is not made by MAC, dont know who makes it, it might be done in house, but works great and sound great as well.

You can call MAC performance and they too will tell you that they dont make the x-pipe

I have the SLP catted X-pipe and am really happy so far. The modular design is nice, because long tube headers are one of My next mods. I have a Flowmaster exhaust, and everybody told me Flows sound crappy with X-pipes. I really like the sound, the sucker really screams when I punch it! :love5:

I have the box at home that says Mac all over it,but your correct when you call Mac to ask them questions about it they will refer you to the people that produce it for them. I still am impressed by the quality of the welds and coating and the price was resaonabLe.I will be installing mine this saturday the 9th,my car has flowmasters on it and I can't wait to hear what it sounds like. I chose this set up because I was told the x-pipes don't drone as bad as the H-pipes and prochambers. I will post my opinion on that theory once installed.

mike sweeney 04-09-2005 02:56 PM

True, X-pipes dont drone as bad as H-pipes, but Mine still drones from 1900-2200 RPM's. :angry9:

Installed My X-pipe Today. Installation Went Smooth(even Without The Back Ordered Snap On Socket I Wanted) The Flowmasters Still Have There Low Rpm Drone Under Load. The Car Is Much Louder And Gets Very Raspy Sounding Under Hard Accel, not So Sure I Like The Sound Now.i Will Probably Try Different Mufflers To Tone It Down A Bit. Seems To Have A Little Less Low End Torque But Accelerates Harder Now Above 4000 Rpms. If I Had To Do It Over I Probably Should Of Forked Over The Extra Money For The Prochamber Or Just Stuck With A Less Expensive Mac H-pipe.

I've had just about every combo and my personal favorite was a Mac ProChamber. I have an X right now and I hate it. I love the sound of a Mac ProChamber into Mac cat back.

My X pipe has a strange higher pitch than an H pipe, kinda gay sounding.
But the X pipes make the power up in the upper rpm's and I am a track whore so I'll live with it.

buddyabe 04-10-2005 12:35 PM

long live the track whore!
