Cam Install
Anyone have a right up on installing cams? And how hard is it?
|
It's an all day adventure with the motor in the car. Not really HARD but difficult enough that you should have it done if you're not a wrench by trade. There are a lot of ways you can screw yourself doing it.
If you have the engine out of the car, it's a lot easier but no less technical. |

redneck is right.. installing cams is pretty cut and dry, the modulardepot links are very helpful also.

it's a helluva lot easier on OHC cars than OHV cars. There are a few tricks and tips in the various procedures on the web that are important.
DON'T MIX UP YOUR CAM CAPS. That's all the advice I have for you. |
Thanks yall.
1 last ?.... Im planning to put turbos on in about a year or so, should I go ahead and get the turbo cams now from VT or wait and get them later? |
you dont want blower cams for a turbo'd car...u want turbo cams....or a custom grind cam....
i would wait for the cam cause the type of cam u want doesn't really like N/A motors.....blower cams on the other hand are great for n/a..just be sure u want a turbo cam blower cam for s/c turbo cam for turbos |
