GT-40 Heads

Hi guys dumb question. Will FRPP GT-40 Heads fit on my 02 GT 5-speed w/stock 4.6L? LMK I found an awesome deal on them and they're supposed to be an easy bolt on 40 HP. LMK :glasses9:

No,the GT 40 heads are for pushrod engines.

Yeppers they are for 5.0L not the 4.6.

Damn, well then is there a cheap performance head like the GT-40 available? What is it where do i get it? :usa2:

Nope, two things that never go together are Cheap & modular motors...things are real cheap for pushrods because they have been around for so long..modulars are still fairly new! :blob6:

only aftermarket heads are the ford racing ones.

otherwise you gotta port the stokcers and add some cams which i might add gain some nasty HP numbers.

what he said
I'm pretty sure that the ford racing heads are not compatable with the PI intake on 99+. They run about $850 a piece and you can either get the stock plastic intake for $250 that will net you alltogether about 40HP or you can get the ford racing intake to match ($1800) that will net about 70HP total. Throw in a cam and your really pullin some ponies. Either way thats some serious change to lay down for a head change.

Yea, skip the heads for right now and get the supercharger. The GT40s wont work like stated, and the cost to do a headswap on our cars is outrageous.

If only it was that simple! :angry8:

Figure on $2000 - $2500 parts only for good ported head, cams, and springs. Plus a tune, larger fuel pump and injectors most likely. Keep in mind that a blower also needs a tune, fuel pump and injectors also. So in many cases, doing a head/cam swap and then adding a blower later will only cuase you do spend money again that you already spent.

BUT, while blowers are a thrill, there is nothing like driving a fast n/a car. The power is always there.

Anyone make a performance top end kit(intake, heads, cams etc.)? If so, how many horses would that add?
