Throttle body help

I want to get a 70mm t/b, but they are just so dang expensive! I have seen a couple of ported stock throttle bodies that say it actually acts like a 69mm t/b...since i can get the ported for about half of a 70mm, should i go with the ported, will it make that big of a diff either way? i have full cold air, t/b spacer, intake spacer, and a ported plenum. thanks for the help if you have any!

Seems like we all have a budget these days. I say, be patient and keep your eye open for a used 70 mm on various car forums or ebay. I think 70mm are pretty easy to find since guys upgrade to 75 a lot when getting a blower.

Here is just one example:

yeah mt thanks for that, i pm'd that guy and hopefully he replies, i really think i can benefit a lot from a 70mm. what do you think i might be able to push rwhp, i have fenderwell cold air, helix t/b spacer, ported stock plenum, intake spacer, MAC o/r hpipe.....i see all these guys with bolt ons like mine sayin they r pushin 250 rw, and then i see a guy dyno his car with a heck of a lot more than i got on my car and say "well i was dissappointed with my 243 rwhp" and hes got like things i have plus headers and catback and all this other stuff.....hmm, how much would a new catback help me? and what about a larger MAF?? i dont know a lot about these dang ford vehicles, but i wanna make it one of the faster cars in flint (NOT that hard) except for my buddies vortech supercharged 02 GT....anyways hit me back sometime, thanks for ur help

With your mods I would say 240 rwhp. Don't get wrapped up around the axle with dyno data. There are too many factors that affect results:

1 - Cars vary
2 - Type of dyno uses
3 - Accuracy of the dyno
4 - Data being inputed correctly by the dyno operator
5 - Climate.
6 - Gears (yes, they make a difference). 4.10's result in a loss of hp on the dyno, but it really is the result of error created by the test.

Of course, climate is not supposed to matter as the data is supposed to be corrected, but you gotta wonder.

As a general rule a catback is gonna get you on a stock GT anywhere from 0 - 8 rwhp depending on which one you chose. Blown cars, will do better.

A MAF won't help you. Don't waste your time as it will only cause problems and cost lots of money as you need to have the car tuned as well. When you start making 400 rwhp +,then you need to start thinking about a MAF. Anybody with a car like yours (or mine for that matter) with an after-market MAF, just gave their money away.

Thanks for the info. I'm in the same boat. I totally want a 70mm TB and Plenum, but damn they are expensive! Like MT#1 said, I'll wait and find a good deal. Thanks for the info

Glad you got one man. I got rid of mine so that I can use the money for a new clutch, but then I may go for a C&L, 75mm tb package. Hopefully RPM outlet keeps their sale going...
