75 MM TB and idle tweak
I just put a 75MM BBK TB on over the weekend. Everything went great, no leaks and runs strong. My question is this. When I had the stock TB on, it idled a hair under 700 RPM. With the new TB on, I can't get it below 900RPM RPM. It doesn't look like you can put the TPS on wrong and I guess the TPS on my '02 isn't adjustable. I adjusted the throttle linkage screw back to the point that it doesn't even contact the linkage but it won't go below 900RPM. Is there something I missed or is it the nature of the larger TB? I suppose I could check the voltage from the TPS to see what it reads, but everything worked great with the stock piece. Any ideas

Holy Crap.. i don't know why i typed maximum Motorsports? I swear to God I am losing my mind.. It is a BBK TB.. I know MM doesn't make TBs

Yea you might have too adjust the voltage to the TPS.

I know with the 5.0s, the TPS was slotted to adjust. How do you tweak the newer ones?

I was told you had to drill out the TPS holes, just alittle, with a drill to make it adjustable.
|
I guess that makes sense.. thanks

Nah, just move it around a little. That is the only way you can do it. (well, save drilling it I guess)

yeah, some places say to use a voltmeter so you can make it more precise but just adjust the voltage til you get it right. But i dunno if it has to be off when youre doin it
