Um, the old header questions....

Personally, I think headers are a waste of money on an N/A, near stock car. Unless you get LT's, you really won't see much power increase. Now, if you plan on cams and after-market heads, then you will get more bang out of the headers (this is what guys like Jason Steen have told me).

Headers can also help make hp with turbo and s/c setups. BUT, in my case, once my s/c is installed, I will be making as much safe power as my motor can handle now anyway w/o headers.

It is a good mod if you have big future plans for the car. It is a good mod if you plan to pull the motor anyway for other engine work, and it is a good mode perhaps if you can get a nice deal on a set of them and don't mind spending a weekend installing them.

They are a bitch to install and are kind of expensive for a nice set of them. I like the SLP headers and many around here will tell you the same. But, they are $700. There have also been complaints of leaks and tough fitmit and then they can become a headache.

So, there is my $0.02. Headers might be a good choice for you, or might not.

I love my LT's. They've been on my car for almost a year with no problems at all. I went with the SLP's which you shouldn't have any issues putting those on an auto car. As far as gains go you would want the full exhaust setup of course and intake would definately help. What is your goal for the car?

Mac coated long tubes, the only ones that'll fit around the auto. SLP & BBK are tough. Mac X. Installed you're looking at around $1100 or so.

I have a set of Bassani mid-lengths and they fit right up where the old exhaust did. They are a PITA to install just like any other set. With cats they are supposed to be 50 state legal if emissions testing is required.Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords did a test of a full Bassani exhaust on a near stock 02 and got 17.4 HP and 17.5 ft lbs of torque. They are kinda expensive though.RPM outlet had the best price and free shipping.:pepper:

I had no problems with my fitment of SLP LT's on my auto. Great quality and no leaks. I couldn be happier with them.

I got my SLP LT and catted xpipe for 900 bux with shipping. You get what you pay for
