roushrider81 02-23-2006 09:39 AM

yea i am getting longtubes with a catted x hopefully it is what everyone says it is.

StangMan04 02-23-2006 09:57 AM

i like SLP in my own opinion. But not everyone has the same likes so everyone has their own preference.

IceMan 02-23-2006 04:08 PM

Bassani and call it a day...

whitethunder46 02-23-2006 04:28 PM

I agree with the LT's and SLP. SLP LT's really change the tone of the catback/mid pipe exhaust. With that said, I love mine.

mattp343 02-25-2006 03:07 PM

i love SLP...but I think their headers are expensive!! Is there any other place (besides their home page) that sells that sells them for a reasonable price?

whitethunder46 02-25-2006 03:33 PM

What I've told people is try and find a local performance shop near you. I'm lucky, I have two. Anyways, I got the owner of one to be a "dealer" with SLP. He got me the SLP LT headers and catted matching X-pipe for under 900 dollars with shipping. Still a lot, but I saved over 250. But you get what you pay for.

809 02-25-2006 07:21 PM

I think so many people find SLP expensive only because they are coated. Many people don't take that into consideration.

Now I'm not calling anyone out here, but if I were MT and you were posting in my forums, I'd think it would be a slap in the face if you asked where you could get them. Looks like no one thought to post up that you can get them here at mustangtuning.com! For those that don't know how to look them up.....

SOHC http://mustangtuning.com/slpheaders.html
DOHC http://mustangtuning.com/slp46dolotuh.html

whitethunder46 02-25-2006 07:25 PM

They'res actually a good deal of headers that are ceramic coated, but SLP are stainless steel ceramic unlike BBK which alumized steel ceramic.

roushrider81 02-25-2006 07:47 PM

tomorrow i will start a thread about it but i am getting long tubes from here with a cattted x and 18x9's in the front and 18x10's in the back (chrome saleen's) rapped with Bf goodrich G-froce t/a kdw2's fronts are goin 265x35x18 and rear 295x35x18:clap: :beerchug: :punk:

csledd 02-25-2006 07:53 PM

I love my SLP LT's

roushrider81 02-25-2006 07:55 PM

well i am going to bed and P.S. i am becoming quit the post whore lol

meebix 02-25-2006 08:33 PM

Well my SLP LM1's are on thier way. Should be installed in about a week from now and I CAN'T WAIT!

My final setup I ordered was:

- BBK LT's
- VRS o/r X
- LM1's

I got some stage 8 bolts and some percy gaskets and of course those MIL's. I can't wait to hear it. Its going to be freaking LOUD, just like I want!

jasonh_86 02-26-2006 08:10 PM

omg.. LMI's with O/R X-pipe.. Me and a buddy did that on his '02 GT this weekend... i'll get you an exhaust vid.. it was LOUD AS HELL, but the worst sounding thing i've ever heard.. SLP O/R X-pipe and SLP LMI Catback.. But hey, to each his own! I hope you like it :D

Badfish 02-26-2006 08:16 PM

ugh....not raspy...lmao...yeah, alright buddy

whitethunder46 02-26-2006 10:00 PM

Who said it wasn't raspy?

Anyways, I'm gonna try and find an exhaust vid of just an SLP x and a LM2 and then compare that to my full SLP setup. To me, it's totally different.

why do i think the first line of this was aimed at springs. i went with flows cuz i didnt want to sound like a camaro. ill just end with that

4.6 Love 02-26-2006 10:34 PM

IMHO...bullet style mufflers sound like ass unless you're running Lt's...when i had my bullets with my mac o/r H and stock manifolds my car sounded like ass...I've heard far too many mustangs with an o/r H stock headers and LM's and i think they sound like ass...but thats just me...

Yeah why would you want to sound like an LS1 that has a bigger v8 and kicks your ass out of the showroom, what are you guys thinking. Come on lets get behind BadFish on this. What would you rather sound like see pics. BTW Im waiting for your vids.

jasonh_86 02-27-2006 09:40 PM

If you guys want some clips of SLP O/R X-pipe and LMII catback, i'll get some vids.. My roommate had that setup on his car. He went thru a few different setups with SLP.. they go as following:
Stock H-pipe and LMI catback
SLP Catted X-pipe and LMI Catback
SLP Catted X-pipe and LMII Catback
SLP O/R X-pipe and LMII Catback
SLP O/R X-pipe and LMI Catback (just for fun one night)
SLP O/R X-pipe and Bassani Street Comp Catback

And Soon to be..
Kooks Longtubes (jet hot coated), Kooks X-pipe and Bassani Street Comp Catback

If you guys want a vid of these, just let me know and he'll send me one from his computer and i'll post them up :)

because we own fords, not GMs...GM lover

so basically, you're saying that you're gonna show respect to ls1's because thyre bigger...pshh sounds like an ls1 lover to me :nono:

1 BAD S 02-27-2006 10:37 PM

Im a car guy and I like all cars so I give respect where its due. Would you be dumb enough to bring a knife to a gun fight :D ?

roushrider81 02-28-2006 06:48 AM

yea 4.6's have a unique sound and my setup does not sound anything like the kid in town who has the same exhaust...toally different sound...

jasonh_86 02-28-2006 11:18 AM

I agree with Venom.. The LS1 is an awesome motor, altho it is a GM. I am a camaro-hater (Hate the car, not the owner/driver), but there's no denying the ability of an LS1.. Easily get into 400+rwhp with bolt-ons and a cam, that's awesome if you ask me.

But i'd still prefer a Ford 4.6L than a chebby 5.7 :D

4.6 Love 02-28-2006 12:20 PM

Hell, i'll take a ls1 over a 2v or 4v anyday...
