Fawk that...

MattJ 02-06-2006 12:59 PM

Its a marketing gimmik. They will NEVER sell for 30 over sticker, unless you have money falling out of your pockets.

TClark22 02-06-2006 01:54 PM

i thought they were supposed to be like 50grand?

01GTBlown 02-06-2006 02:00 PM

OMG, i like ford but they are fukin up bad!

MattJ 02-06-2006 02:03 PM

Its not ford, its the ford dealerships. They are the ones marking up the price.

csledd 02-06-2006 02:36 PM

well like he said.. the sticker price will be $49,900.. making it the fastest car under $50k, which was their goal.. but I think that all the dealerships have known ever since the beginning that they would be able to sale them well over that price. I dunno about $50k over that price, but we'll see

Dave04GT 02-06-2006 03:04 PM

for 100K they can keep it. I'll go buy a 05 ZO6 or a damn Viper for that price.

BeatTheBrat94 02-06-2006 03:07 PM

My 2 cents... When I test drove an '01 Cobra, I was talking to the SVT Rep at the dealership. He was telling me that they will not want to mark them up so high that they fall out of the "Cobra" price range from previous models. They know that they can't just mark it up to 100k +... They'll lose all the business from previous onwers. As one of the guys on that forum said, Ford is a business, they will not let the dealers screw over everyone.

csledd 02-06-2006 04:47 PM

yeah, most dealerships are crooked if you ask me. But just remember.. it's not a cobra anymore, it's a shelby ;)

04DarkShadowGT 02-06-2006 05:06 PM

The dealers arent crooks for getting 100K for a 50K car. Last time I checked it was still America where a buyer and seller agree on a price to pay.

Dont blame dealers for mark-ups, blame the yahoos that pay it. If no one would pay it, they woudlnt do it.

madmatt 02-06-2006 05:08 PM

And people wonder why ford and all the other automakers are in trouble. 100k give me a freaking break, its a damn mustang, a MUSTANG. That pisses me off.

venom 02-06-2006 06:56 PM

Looks like my Venom project is a bargin.

csledd 02-06-2006 06:58 PM

If I had the money to blow I would definately buy one, even at 100k, but I would still think the dealerships are crooks :D

maybe that's just because they've already ripped me off before

Lances03SVT 02-06-2006 07:07 PM

Personally I would'nt even pay $50,000 for it.Give me $50,000,I'd buy a $25000 03/04 Cobra and spend the other $25000 modding it.Would look alot meaner and rape the Shelby!!!

And have alot of cash left over.

madmatt 02-06-2006 07:39 PM

I've mentioned this before, My dad was test driving a new vette not a Z06 and was told someone paid 20 over invoice for the first vette in Montgomery County MD... if you don't think there are plenty of people with over 100 grand to drop on a car your mistaken... Certainly not the average joes car, but then again neither is the GT. I can see it happening 4000+ cars a year isn't alot, I'm sure all the ones for 07 are bought already...that same dealer i was talkin bout before also sells Lambos, Lotus, and Hummers, and they've been in business as long as I've lived there...

Damn rich people, Why fight them LoL I wana JOIN THEM!
