Crew Chief on the B-1B. Up until a few years ago, TSgts didn't even set foot on the flight line except to sign off forms for the jets or to take a look at something if it was severely f**ked up. No such luck for me. I work more as a Tech than I EVER did as an airman...:wallbash:

And EVERYONE hits on the med chicks!!!:devil2:

ROFL Yah. Med chicks are hot. <grin>

Heh, didnt mess with the planes much when i was in, however, I remember one time the NAOC plane (i think it was NAOC, maybe NAIC, anyways, it was the one that carrys the NUCLEAR-FUGGIN-WEAPON LAUNCH CODES) landed in WPAFB, and they had a cable spool with a plug that they plug into the plane to get landline phone access.

Anyways, it wasnt working. Me and my supervisor(who happened to be masta killer's brother) were the unfortunate bastards who had to respond. I swear to god everytime i reached in my tool bag i had a freakin 9mm jammed in my temple.. I can understand the need for the security, but man, i dont like having guns pulled on me. <laugh>

We were in that damn plane for about 1/2 hour, and several times i thought i was gonna get carried out in a body bag. Those guys dont play at all. Hard-To-The-Core
ROFL

Good times. LMAO

stanger00 01-30-2006 07:37 PM

i work on AGE equipment crew cheifs hate us. when i was hangin out with some friends on al udeids flightline i almost got jacked up by a SP that was gaurding a J Star. i got more then 10 feet away from my escort. in iraq i could go up to every aircraft on base without getting looked at twice even when i got some snaps of the predator and other UAVs the air force and army have.

I thought it was the other way around. I've never met an AGE troop that had a nice thing to say about crew chiefs. I don't hate AGE troops, but I do hate some of the crappy equipment that you guys are unlucky enough to have to try and keep together for us. :beerchug:

stanger00 01-30-2006 08:28 PM

all of the drinking buddies i have are crew chiefs.

My parents talked me out of it multiple times, but if the call goes out, I'd volunteer to be a crew chief on one of the utility helicopters, UH-60, maybe a medevac or the UH-1's... well I hope I'd score on that test to become one, but you know... if the call goes.

Me and my wife are both army brats. LOL I'm 45 she's 41, years old. My Dad was Sergeant Major. And my Father in law was a Command Sergeant Major. We both grew up in pretty strict environments. Which is why I chose to go into the industrial mechanic field at 19 years old. Anything other than the military. I lived it from my earliest memories. I have school friends who I have known since 1st grade that are retired military now. Some decorated war heros in the Granada and Faulkland campaigns. Now they get retirement pay plus are still working good jobs. Plus I lost a few friends too. Any war doesn't come without casualties. :( . But I live 4 miles from Ft. Bragg and I am proud to hear the ground shake when they are doing live round practice in the wee hours of the morn. I love the sound of Howitzers busting ass at 3 AM.
