Turbo charger

I have a buddy who thinks that if I put in a turbocharger that I can add about 90+HP to my v6 mustang. What do you guys think?

CCM 01-15-2006 09:12 PM

Yes. :beerchug:

Icefreezen 01-15-2006 09:19 PM

Like i tell all v6 owners, dont spend the time and money, save up money and just trade it in for a GT, i mean why are you going to throw all that money into it just to make it as fast as a stock GT?. If you can afford a turbocharger then you can afford to trade in yoru car for a GT. In the long run your going to end up spending way more money on your v6 when you could have just got a GT and been good.

yeah yea depends...he's right sometimes, but honestly, you can get LOTS of horsepower outa our lil V6's...400 hp easy with a built engine 2 grand, and a supercharger/turbo... it's just that it costs alot and people don't stick with them because they just buy the V8 cheaper... but it's about the same cost just alot more effort, but to me effort is most of the fun..... this guy J he posted once on here and he's on a couple other forums has a TT in his V6 and had it installed for I think 6-7 grand and is puttin out well over 600 from what I heard...but thats just a rumor...

point being...easy hp = V8.... Harder/more fun hp = V6....

Yes and if I get a GT my insurance goes ape****.

I 100% agree BUT......

What does that say about us GT guys who modify?

You see, what you say is logical, but we are all hippocrits.

how is that so??

i hope you're not talking about trading for a cobra...because i could sell my car for only abour 11 k right now if im lucky...a charger plus tune is only about 4.5 k...15 k isnt gonna get me an 03 cobra.

v6= waste of time and money v8= self respect
BTW- just face it your car is ga y

spike_africa 01-17-2006 08:18 AM

you can add alot more then 90hp.

GREG@94GT 01-17-2006 08:21 AM

do it...

when ya rock a v-6 ya stand out alot more than a v-8...

and i think a v-6 can kill a v-8...

what i think would be nifty is an alloy block v6... with a SC or turbo...
it would be so much lighter than a v8 and haul some major ass! :beerchug:

how much HP are the each of you makin?

if he is even slightly less he should be faster...

you have a drop top...

him w/ a v-6 whether drop or not should be fairly lighter...
again how much HP and torque do the each of ya get?

i'm just sayin that v-6s do have potential... tho not as much by far as a v-8...

i would give some sixxers more props cause a fast 6 is more unique than the everyday 8 with all the same bolt ons...

like grimz's car... thats a nice ass car and its a sixxer :beerchug:

id do a turbo on a v6 you can run 11s streetable on the stock bottom end. they are strong
