Silver or Black?

Alright, I'm seriously thinking about doin some stripes, but I'm stuck on what color to get. I can't decide between silver or black. I was thinking that if I got black, I could accent it with things like tail light tint. But I also think silver would look pretty good. I guess I need to figure out how to photoshop it....

My car's Mineral Gray BTW.

FritoBandito 01-11-2006 04:52 AM

ehh, I'd leave em off. Mineral grey is prob pretty touchy about strip color choice. If you are dead set on it, I'd go black or dark dark grey. I think silver would look like poo on your color.

OFFdutyHERO 01-11-2006 05:44 AM

yea silver is too close to the color of ur car, and would look like hell. I think a set of black stripes would look awesome, and then if you wanted someday to get black deep dish bullits. but i do think stripes would look good IMO.

venom 01-11-2006 08:16 AM

Although black may be the obvious choice I will gamble with silver. If you dont like it you can remove them and add the black.

Grimmz 01-11-2006 11:58 AM

yeah go with the black ones, they look real good!

i think silver would look alright. i have a dark gray tone on the back of my car and i get a lot of compliments on it ( and my car is silver )

Yeah, I've always liked that silver on yours. Venom, how hard is it to remove them and does it do any damage to the paint?

Jack The Ripper 01-11-2006 01:45 PM

All these people are a bunch of unimaginative retards. How come everyone wants to do black on every stinkin color but black? Too afraid to try something else.
Take a look at that guy with the Torch red stang with the silver stripes, that was a gamble and looks badass.

My roomate has a Dodge Hemi 1500 that is very close to DSG. I put some of the extra silver striping i had up against it and honestly, it looked like it would be a sweet combo. While that aint mineral grey, i think silver would be a very sweet touch. it wouldnt be too bold, but they would definatly be there and NOBODY else has done it, everyone else just wants the same old boring black.

Black is boring dude. Silver would look Slick on that car, ignore what everyone says and go with what you want. I reccommend silver, ya know why? Cause it aint been done.

It wont be as bold, but i bet it would look awesome dude.

RyanGT04 01-11-2006 02:39 PM

Go witht the silver... It will definitely look good but if you dont like it they are very easy to take off. Just heat with a hairdryer or somethin and pull em right off.

Its real simple just peel it off. When it gets old like a few years is when it may be a little tough but not harmful. If you want to be safe try to get sheets of regular paper in silver or paint them silver then make your temporary stripes out of that just to see if you like it. I did this with white paper to see how it would look and I like it so I went for it. Just look at my prototype

I'm almost tempted to ditch my silver stripes and go with a dark grey, or like a DSG color. <grin>

ROFL. Dont forget, "elanore" was a hollywood creation. Ford NEVER produced that exact car. <grin> Chip foose and a couple others were hired to create "elanore", that specific car never rolled off a ford assembly line looking like that. She was a one of a kind custom job (well, 12 were made for the movie, 13 if you count the CG elanore) (not positive on those numbers, but 98% sure)

Saw that on a special "Gone in 60 seconds" episode of "rides"

However, if you want one "Unique Performance" actually builds these full time, they even come with new for VIN numbers and are backed and licenced by ford. They will make a GT 350, a GT 500, or the best yet, a 725hp Elanore Supersnake, which includes the "Go baby go" nitrous button on the shifter.

Also, Elanore was origionally going to be BLACK with DSG stripes. The producer wanted a black car, however, black looks better in night shots than in daytime shots on the big screen, and most of the time you see elanore it is around dusk/dawn not night. So foose and his team did 1 with each paint job, the DSG with black stripes won out in the end.

Little trivia for the ol sweettooth

Jack The Ripper 01-11-2006 06:30 PM

Oh hey,. Grimms, once yer done saving up yer pennys, here is where you can buy your very own Elanore. The performance model starts at 139,000
