99-04gt vs. 05+gt?
 

What do you think it would take for a 99-04 gt to beat a 05+ gt. Anyone in here drove a new gt and an older one, how big of a difference in acceleration/power is there. Don't the new gt's come with 3.33:1 gears?

u can have a good amount of bolt ons on your 99-04 gt and keep up with them

u can beat them with a stock one also just find a sucky driver

The new ones have 3:55's stock and they are pretty fast from what I noticed from the one I test drove.

They are really not that much faster. Yes the have a 40 more HP but they are also a few hunded pounds heavier. some 3.73's or 4.10's, exhaust and pullies is all you would need to beat an 05 with a 99+GT! :)

I tried to get a guy to race me in his 05 GT a couple of weeks ago but he was babying the damn thing.I think my exhaust scared him a little bit :)

There was an 06 GT Slowmatic at the dyno day I went to on Sat.

Put down 242hp... can't remember what the tq # was.

so its roughly has about 31hp more at the wheels a 00gt automatic dynoes at 211 at the wheels and 265 torque

Slappy's right, I never get 05 GT's that want to run, but the freaking v6's are always trying to race me....I don't normally waste my gas, but sometimes I get pissed off and just freaking destroy them.....I think a lot of dealerships filled peoples heads with a bunch of crap about the new v-6's being faster than previous year GT's.....I think that statement is true up to 99-04 GT's, but still.
