dilema

All right guys...
Here's my dilema so far. With the settlement drawing to a close with the insurance company, I'm pocketing around $1500 due to them totally out my old Stang. I currently own a 1990 Buick LeSabre as my winter beater, I need to get new tabs and insurance for it, otherwise it's all good to go. At the dealership where I bought my Stang they have a 2003 GT for sale, just under 15k for it. So far my parents are telling me that I should just hold onto the money and wait till spring so I can actually drive the GT instead of just putting into storage for the winter. My step-sister's fiance and one of my bosses both are giving me similar advice, however they both are car freaks and see why I am interested in the GT now...

What do y'all think???

hold on to the money....u got a car already and dont need the stang sitting through the winter... save it...see if there is anything better around late march and early april....hell maybe ur parents will be kind enough to spot for a 05

Sit on the money untill it is ready to be purchased. With you buying a car like that and have a lien on the title, you are REQUIRED to have FULL COVERAGE insurance on it since the bank owns it. Sit on the money and look around at what you like and what you can afford. It took me 3 months to find mine, because I was specific on what I wanted. Good things come to those who wait.

i really really really wished i wasn't as impatient when i bought my stang, I just went out and bought any stang and i really regret it. I wanted a black 5 spd and instead i bought a stupid overpriced white auto just because i was impatient.

GAHH... This helps, yet doesn't.
Spin - That's what landed me in my old Mustang. I was in a hurry to buy one, so I ended up with a V6 auto. The Stang sitting at the dealership is what I wanted originally. Paint is paint, but my 2 utmost favorite colors are sonic blue and black. This is sonic blue, I believe. I'm just debating now do I jump for it or wait it out and look for it in the spring. ::shakes head:: too many things going on. Grr.

if it was me ied buy it cause i know u woudl wind up spending the money on stupid ****

madmatt 11-14-2005 11:34 AM

Put the money in a bank account that you cant touch til next year :D

I hate fat girlz 11-14-2005 11:45 AM

**** that dont listen to any1. go buy it right now. whats the point of leaving a bunch of money idle in the bank? by the time you want to buy a stang you might not be able to find one that you like, so either way its a gamble. but i say go get the car now.

i'd probably end up spending the money over the winter. im not good at saving... but i have a good job, two cars, a boat and a house thats paid off and im just turning 22. i dont really have to save for anything.

if you're good at saving money then wait till the spring. if you spend money like i do then buy the thing now while you have the money... lol.

Rejekt 11-15-2005 04:57 AM

Yeah, I'd buy it now too. It's the winter so you can haggle because of gas prices / cold weather... etc etc. Alot of dealerships go up in the spring and summer cause they figure every young kid in high school is either 1) gonna buy one and cruise all summer or 2) have mom and dad buy one for them to cruise all summer. At least here anyways. Yeah, besides, you'll end up spending it on dumb **** lol Xbox 360 AND PS3 coming out.... Pshhhh

Are you missing a Zero? $1500 is not enough to buy an '03 GT. If that is all you have, then by all means do NOT buy that car. What you will pay in interest on the loan and in insurance over the winter will be like throwing money in the garbage just to do nothing but have it sit in the garage.

I tell you what, I'll make you a deal, for $1000 you can park my car in the garage and tell everyone it is yours. That way you save $500.

If you meant to say $15,000, then you have some options, but still smarter to wait until the spring UNLESS you see a car that is just to good of a deal to pass up. That happens sometimes over the winter.

madmatt 11-15-2005 06:07 AM

I dont understand why you guys are saying to buy it, if you dont remember, cars depreciate, the minute you buy it, it is worth WAY less. Why buy a car, let it sit and waste your money, when you could be sitting on it for a while.
