bought a tv
did some shopping. walmart, yes walmart, had the best price. was $600 when i first went looking. monday this week it was $580 and when i bought it, thursday, it was $550. $60 rush shipping got it here within 12 hours. bestbuy wont price match anything under 8 hundo.
i'm too afraid to take that sticker off on the bottom left corner. if you can't read it or don't feel like looking, it's a 46in led westinghouse tv w/ 1080p @120hrtz. uses less energy than a 100w light bulb (80w's). 2 hdmi's 1 usb, composite in, l and r audio out 3.5mm head phone in, and vga. can't believe i've waited so long. upgraded from a 20in flat screen (tube tv) toshibia that i've had for years. didn't resize so: http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/5138/imag0026csp.jpg as you can see, i have poison ivy... i have my comp shooting out 1920x1080 but it's kinda hard to see shit from my bed so i'm going to dull it down to 1440x900. i have to magnify stuff in google chrome to read it. oh wells. going to opt for a wall mount and a nice glass coffee table as well as a ps3 for gaming and blu ray. all down the road. the speakers suck so i have the tv hooked up to my receiver and two full range yamaha speakers. |
Sweet. I'm still a plasma guy. Panasonic is the way to go if you are going plasma.

That is one hell of an upgrade from a 20" tube. :pepper:

Awesome! I have a 47" LED tv, so it's practically the same size. I don't think I'd get anything bigger or smaller after having this one for a while. It seems to be the perfect size for a smaller living room.

any tips on taking off that sticker? i have a feeling that it's barely on there but i don't want to get half of it off and have that sticker residue on the black finish. |
I have a 1986 Montgomery Ward. 24 inch. lol
But I'm getting a 42" Sony in November... and if you get a PS3, buy Killzone 3. Awesome shooter. |

Awesome tv and the price for it is a steal! I paid 3x as much for a samsung 46" LED tv but I got 3d glasses and a galaxy tablet for free with the purchase :/
|
Get the wall mount that tilt if you do, thats what we have here in our data center for our 3 32" LCD tv's 2 of them for network monitoring and our security cams monitoring and the other for just TV ( currently showing the barrett jackson auction )!

It's pretty hard to find a good mount for a TV that size. You have to shop around a bit.
|
I have no clue to find what you want. I did look for something similar last year but gave up and just bought a tv stand that swivels and is just high enough to keep the screen out of a 2 year olds reach.
I have no use for a 3d active tv but I couldnt pass up the deal. I been in the market for a tablet for a while now. I needed a new tv and killed 2 birds with one stone in a way. |

you and 08_gt work at best buy? that's where i was going to go because the walmart here has nothing decent. they just either have a tilt or swivel. they don't have any full motion ones for a 46in tv, just small ones.
Get the Sanus one if you can (kinda pricey) but they're lifetime warrantied, and actually do pay out. We had an installer recently put one in, and a bolt managed to strip itself out a few weeks later and Sanus replaced everything after it all came crashing down lol. Plus they're sturdy as hell, and don't bind-up so they'll tilt and move around freely as you wish. Not a big westinghouse fan, but it was a good deal either way! Loving that we have the same idea as far as using the TV for a monitor lol. Photo/video editing works great on a 46" at 1080p. :D |
