Who's Gotten Snow? For the Sake of The Lounge

The Lounge has been dead so I decided to make a thread about anything.

It's snowed for the first time this winter here in Arkansas and Northeast Texas. I had to go to the grocery store about and hour after it started, less than an inch on the ground and people were driving like it was the apocalypse. I could head fire trucks in the distance, and pulling the E-brake sliding (in the girlfriend's car) like Vaughn Gittin Jr. I'm a badass, what, come at me Bro! We've got about 4 inches on the ground, twice that in the pants, WOOT. :smokin:

I've never driven the Mustang in the snow, due to the natives. Anyways, how's your weather, car, anything?

probiker427 01-09-2011 08:04 PM

we got hit hard in Jersey in late December about 2 feet. another little storm over the weekend dropped another 4inches and Wednesday were supposed to get hit with another storm for about 8-12inches..sucks. the stang gets covered up and ill get stuck if i take it out anywhere so i dont even try haha

Shadow_Stang 01-09-2011 10:10 PM

We've been hit hard like 4 times already in Ky. The roads will all ice over, and you slide everywhere. Luckily my college and workplace are both in walking distance, so the stang never leaves the garage.

I would kill for a black Ford Raptor... I love those, and need a winter vehicle.

krenogin 01-10-2011 07:26 AM

I heard pikeville got it pretty bad. I'm in richmond and we barely got any snow. however the roads got covered pretty good. Another big storms heading this way all week and Im not gonna like it!

Slim03GT 01-10-2011 11:49 AM

We had about 3 inches 2 weeks ago which has since melted away. It just started snowing again here. Its suppose to drop 6-12 on us between now and Tuesday night. Eff snow.

Get that East Coast cleared..... Coming home from my deployment this week and I don't want to get stuck anywhere due to flights canceling.

TUFF 4.6 01-10-2011 01:26 PM

We've had snow 4 times in the last month and the forecast says 3" of ice tonight and tomorrow. I'm with Slim on the snow, F*** it ! Bring on Spring.

One inch of snow here equals 75 to 100 car wrecks per rush hour. Its a damn circus and the clowns are in charge.

bigkeeko 01-10-2011 02:43 PM

Not only had we snow the sea froze

08mustang_gt 01-10-2011 02:45 PM

8 inches of snow here! Woop woop!

And about 16 inches have blown against my garage door so I'm not going anywhere! Lol.

Snowstorm FTMFW!

WNRacing 01-10-2011 03:51 PM

I'm so fucking sick of snow. It's been a bad winter here in TN terms. I think we've had a total of a foot or so in middle TN since winter started and we typically only have 3-4" by this time at the most. It just snowed again last night about 4" and supposed to be more on the way tonight.

3.8LMustang 01-10-2011 04:46 PM

We just got hit with this bad storm on Sunday, winds were up to 70mph, it was raining/hailing and we had like two tornados

drag_racer33 01-10-2011 06:04 PM

We had a couple of hard hits in december, one had a total of 16-20 depending how close to the lake it was. And we get a few inches a week in lake effect snow.

If you haven't seen it look in videos, the metrodome (home of the ever disappointing vikings) collapsed under all the weight of what they got.
On another note driving to the Minneapolis from brainerd (2 hours or so) I hit every form of precipitation short of acid rain

Yeah, we got 5 inches last night and we're expecting another 1-2 tonight.

Badfish 01-10-2011 11:27 PM

pretty nice over here :)

drag_racer33 01-11-2011 03:28 PM

I do have to say, as much as I hate not being able to drive my car in the winter I absolutely love waking up to 3" of snow on EVERYTHING like this morning

probiker427 01-11-2011 03:35 PM

10-18 inches expected tonight/tomorrow morning...GREAT

Deathdiesel 01-11-2011 06:07 PM

Lol...I had a puddle of water freeze this morning..Although my trucks old battery couldnt take it anymore, and wouldnt start, so i just took the stang. New fuckin battery cost me 130$....But hey, no snow for me bitches. :P

rebelyell 01-11-2011 09:46 PM

round 2 here, yesterday, and monday. 4 inches of fluff, then sleet and hard freeze. went to work tuesday, but left after the sun went down. Roads are gonna freeze over with black ice..

round 1 was Dec 25th. 6 inches of fluffy, melted in 2 days.

This is not normal for the southeast..

I'm doing my part by spraying aerosol cans into the air to open that ozone hole some more. Fuck the grandkids, I'm cold now... :p

thats crazy god damn

01FR500 01-14-2011 08:00 AM

Today is going to be our first day above freezing. We still have snow and ice where it stays shadded. Yesterday I was looking at Google Earth images of Eagles Canyon Raceway, near Decatur, TX. Right outside of Decatur you could see where some recent satelite images showed snow on the ground, pretty neat to look at.

krazypony 01-14-2011 09:30 AM

Yeah we got about 7-8" of snow here in the south too, I had to go dig a path through the yard for the dog and us to walk down towards the street. I grew up in this shit so its no biggy for me!

drag_racer33 01-14-2011 11:53 AM

It has snowed here constantly since tuesday night... not totaling a huge amount but its making the roads fun... and next to impossible to make it up my driveway... its about a 40 degree hill for 20 feet

krazypony 01-14-2011 12:40 PM

you know its not that driving in it alone is bad enough with these people that think its 70 degrees out and you can actually go a normal or above speed close 70mphr, but its the damn 18 wheelers that have this snow shit sitting on top of there rigs and then it comes loose and flys off to the cars below!

was behind a 3 Men and a Truck this morning and I was like that shit is starting to come loose and I backed off about 15ft and it started to go every where, it was like a mobile snow storm!

Here too. Some people didn't get the the ice and snow off their roof.

Saw a car today and the whole sheet of ice and snow bout 3 inches thick started going airborne like a nascar hood.. did about 5 flips then smashed into the road.. I was like, Wow, that was kinda cool, bet he felt like a nitrous boost when 50 lbs suddenly left his vehicle.. :p

I've done that a few times. Those were days when the ice will fly off and all I could do is say whoops, I knew I forgot to do something.

BullyDogJason 01-23-2011 12:11 PM

we only got one good storm that dumped about a foot. since then its all melted off then maybe a inch here and there.. lame winter

We had just a dusting of snow and less than a half inch of sleet and this is what happened in the Richmond area. I copied and pasted this from our NBC local news website.........

"Any time you have wet roads and below-freezing temperatures, expect ice," said Dawn Eischen of the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Virginia State Police reported they handled more than 2,000 service calls as the storm moved across the state yesterday. The police counted calls received between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Troopers responded to 906 traffic crashes and 463 disabled vehicles. In the division that includes the metropolitan Richmond area, the Tri Cities and the Northern Neck there were 111 crashes and 35 disabled vehicles among 425 service calls, state police said in a news release.

Most of the wrecks involved damaged vehicles, and no fatalities were reported.

On Interstate 66 in Northern Virginia, a state trooper pushing a disabled vehicle out of a travel lane escaped injury after being knocked to the ground by an out-of-control vehicle.

The "clowns" ruled !!!
