Heres the deal: This isn't a rice thread. We've all seen the obvious stuff such as aftermarket body kits, huge spoilers, GT-R emblems, etc. I want to see what you really hate, that others may like. Do you hate FR500 wheels? A particular hood? Does something make you cringe when you see it? Show it here.


Here are a few examples, and these are pet peeves of mine.


1. The SCT emblem:


Why put this cheap ***, plastic emblem on your car? I just saw a mustang GT today with it on the trunk lid.


2. Chrome Bullitts


These have gotta be the ugliest mustang-related wheels you could get. Black ones I can deal with, or the stock bullitt ones, but chrome? Gross.

This could go beyond mustangs, but I hate when people have the big *** MUSTANG decal in their windshield. Pretty sure 99.9% of americans know it's a mustang. The other .1% are either retarded, illiterate, or blind.

 

I absolutely hate euro style tailights on almost every vehicle. You all know what those look like, so I don't need to post a pic.

 

I hate mudflaps on mustangs. It's rare, but I've seen some Mustangs with mudflaps. Rear window louvers, they work on the old Mustangs, but anything after '79 shouldn't have them. Excessive decals. Huge rims. Rims with the wrong offset or backspacing. Too many interior pieces painted to match the outside or the paint just doesn't match at all. I could go on and on.

I hate the Cobra R front bumper and the rear spoiler. Looks like complete and total ***, even on a Cobra R. I don't give a damn if they're functional. They look like ****.

No offense to anyone here, but I don't like the 03-04 Cobra rear spoilers. Too bulky and looks weird. I prefer no spoiler at all.

The Roush Rear Spoilers on 05-09 Mustangs. They're just ugly and don't flow well with the car.

I hate when people put the chrome "MUSTANG" lettering on their trunklid or wherever else in or on the car.

Headlight splitters. Gay.



I'm sure I can think of more, but I have to leave work in 2 minutes.

I know you mentioned emblems in the first post, but theres an 02 or an 03 V6 convertible that rides around my area with Cobra emblems on the fenders. Everytime I see it I wanna rip the driver out by his face and set his car on fire. Just sayin'

 

I hate on any car when people improve things that dont NEED to be when other stuff SHOULD be... I know accidents happen to nice cars, but you all know what i am talking about.
Painted stock mustang rims almost NEVER turn out looking good, not the newer ones the modular and edge body ones
the pic of the orange mustang too... painted side scoops = no

And an answer for 3.8.... boredom...

I also hate when people feel the need to have chrome everything, and AM doesn't help either. ******* chrome windshield sprayer covers? Really? Or the gay *** chrome exhaust things that stick onto the bumper. Or the chrome taillight trim....

The worst thing IMO is those fake projector headlights that are usually matched by euro taillights like someone mentioned earlier.

All of these have plenty of examples around where I live. I know of three cleanly modded GTs that I'd actually drive, the rest of the mustangs around here are V6s that look and sound like ***. And then the old men who drive stock GTs lol.

I hate how every "cleanly" modded mustang looks exactly the same. The typical mach 1 chin spoiler, bumper inserts, tinted lights all around, lowered, and 18" bullits or cobras. Oh, and a grill delete.

 

Tuff4.6 the rims and louvers work on that color make it RED or Comp Orange and it fails

 

Forgot anybody that took enough time to put duals pipes but didn't make them even or turn downs I also agree on the silver plastic junk worst the oval fake inakes they come on Buicks please keep them off Mustangs

 

This is true in Forum lala land...I have yet to see any mustangs that WOW me on the street. But I have seen a lot of WTF mustangs cruisin the streets where I live.

 

Cheese grater tail lights on anything but a red car look terrible.

 

I agree with this to a point... everyone has their own idea what looks good, and as long as they do it "right" then i respect it even if it isn't something I would throw on my car.

However if it is done completely half assed or way over the top (aka rice) forget it

 

This made me think of something else. And goes for all cars. Bodykits. Not only is ordering them a terrible idea, but throwing them on your car with a ******* staple gun, glue, and scotch tape as soon as they come in? Not even painting them? Seriously I don't understand. I mean, I'm guilty of this myself with my Cobra R bumper (might do the wing, too), but at least I put it on there "right" so it actually looks like, idk, part of my ******* car. I hate that so much.

 

I'm not a fan of painted interior parts.

Meaning.. example: your cars white..and you paint certain parts of your interior white.

It bothers me and is rarely done correctly.

Blowmasters. They sound like ****. I don't care what car it is, they still sound like ****.

Hoodpins. If your **** has a latch, and the latch works correctly..present the issue please?

However, everyone has their taste, and thats why it is theirs, not mine.

Also: FU Steeda, I had a SCT badge on my v6..cause I lacked anything else to put on that side of the hood.

 

Chrome fake air vents in the fender. Euro taillights, Chrome things on the fenders, front bras, , Fog lights that stick way out, and are blue. Running pony side stripes.

But I've gotten alot more tolerant about that stuff. I still point and laugh but, Whatever you want to do to your car, I could give a rats *** less about it.

But when you put a big *** bolt on wing on your trunk, expect a big point and laugh.. . Same goes for neon running lights. That's so yesterday, even for a ricer...

Oh 1 more thing, dirty rims, no matter what style. If you wash your car, please wash your rims too. Dirty brake dust front rims = I don't give a ****..

And last but not least. 4x4 stangs, Like mine dammmit. That's my next project. I get her lowered, cause it just shouldn't have been that gaddaam high to begin with.

 

I hate those stupid 3M/Magnetic silver circle things that AutoZone sells... they came on buicks, well leave'm there for crying out loud!

I saw some girl in her black v6 2001-04 style this morning as I was taken the young'n to school. I was like WTF! And the girl driving it had this BIG over bite of buck teeth to go with it, for the love of gawd!

 

Cleanly modded mustangs don't have to look the same.

But a V6 S197 with and overly done hood, or just the front bumper of a bodykit (no offence) just looks retarded in my opinion.

For example, there is a blue S197 GT that runs around here with the Cervinis Eleanor bodykit that is gorgeous. Still clean, but definitely not the typical style.

Look at WNRacing's stang, still VERYYY clean but not the typical mods that most people do. Its a matter of balance like anything else.

I want the Cervinis side exhaust on my GT, but after looking at cars that have it without having the rest of the kit it looks atrocious. So I'll either buy the whole kit, or just live without it.

 

I agree about the body kit thing, but some of them can look good when they're painted and installed properly and as long as the kit isn't over the top.

The Cobra R bumper and spoiler are rice looking, in my opinion. Even on a Cobra R. They're just ******* hideous. If that front bumper and wing was on any other car, people would say it was rice. But when they're on a Mustang, people drool over them. I don't get it.



One other thing I hate is taillights that are tinted too dark. There is nothing worse than being behind a Mustang (or any other car) where the taillights are almost black. It's nightmarish to me. Not only is it overboard, it seriously isn't safe to do.

I don't like chrome headlights or turnsignals, but, I think they can look right on the right color and as long as there isn't too much chrome anywhere else.


Tuff, your car looks great and I hate chrome. I even like the wheels. Your car flows well. Granted, I don't care for louvers, but you make them work because your car isn't too overdone with other stuff. Plus, you have skulls on the side of your car, so that is an automatic +1,000 points from me.


Oh and 3.8, if you don't like it, then get the **** out. It must not be that lame if people are replying to it. I think it is a decent thread and it's cool to see other people's opinions.

Yesterday I was following a nice dark red mustang, 01-03 I can't differentiate between those years.... anyways I'm thinking to myself wow, that looks pretty clean and well kept from back here. Then she turns and has those chrome door ding guard things... those look ridiculous
