2011 white Mustang's
has anyone noticed that on the 2011 white mustangs the front and rear bumpers are a different material which causes the white paint on those areas to look more of a yellow white than an actual white. It is a totally different color than the rest of the car. If I had bought a white 2011 mustang Id be pissed.
I was washing my bosses GT CS and noticed the bumpers were a different color. |
I dunno..but I was searching and found this sex machine!
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...-11_800x0w.jpg yeah i guess I can kind of see it in the pic. i'd have to see one in person. I'd be pretty pissed too if my mustangs bumpers were a diff white. |

I've never noticed it in pics and I haven't seen one in white in person.
Some of the colors are just weird for 11. Kona is beautiful but sometimes looks purple. Grabber blue is the color of a smurf. The Yellow Blaze is.. goldish |
I've noticed the sidescoops on new edges like ours have different shades when the paint gets applied. It always seems lighter than the rest of the body.

It might be the material the bumper is made of. My 69 GTO, which was one of the 1st to use rubber or what the fuck ever it was. Was made from yellow rubber or whatever material it was.. for the whole front. My 79 Z-28 bumper was yellow underneath the black paint that spiderwebbed very badly after 3 years.. Plastic will turn yellow on it's own to. Maybe that has some bearing on the discoloration...

You would think a good primer would solve this but i guess not. Correct me if im wrong but ford uses a 3 stage paint right?

A lot of the parts are painted in a different place than the bodies on these cars, it's always been that way. Not as big of a deal on any of the other colors, but it's always been an issue on white cars, the plastics always tend to yellow over time because of a slight variation in the paint mixture.

Lol, after the bumpers the guys went..."ahhh lets make the white whiter" and forgot to repaint :D
