Default How Much?

*THIS IS NOT A POST TO SELL MY CAR*

Just wondering what a fair price would be for my Mustang, because I am selling it locally.

It's a 2005 Mustang v6 4.0 Premium with leather seats, GT bullitt rims and tires, true dual exhaust, louvers, cai, tuner, sirius satellite radio, and a few other little do-dads.

How much should I ask for it? It has almost 78,000 miles and I've never raced/dragged/etc.

kelly blue book says 10-11K depending on condition (good to excellent) but i think 2005 GTs are probably selling for close to that

Really? My area, SC, the GT's are going around 13k-16k bone stock with close to the same mileage... I've got it listed for 10k obo, but I was just wondering if that is too much? Shoot, it's in pretty damn good condition if I can say so myself, never dogged it out, always clean...

you're probably pretty close on the 10K

10 grand for a 5 year old v6... I guess that's fair. At least it's on the newer body style.

No but it's close. I'm just a bit bemused at the valuations given to aging S197 v6's vs. the value of say a 2002 v6 in 2007.

r3d,

i haven't really kept up with prices. are you saying the S197s are selling (now) for more than the new edges (a few years ago) at the same relative age/mileage? or people are asking more maybe?

I think that's exactly what he's saying. I've noticed the trend as well. It seems like people are willing to pay a lot more for the S197 v6's compared to how much people were willing to pay for the New Edge ones right after the S197's came out.

Congrats on the sale, though.

Thanks man, I've noticed that in my area too, shoot there was a 2002 v6 with a few bolt-ons and 85k miles down the road from me and the guy sold it for $8200. I just want to know why? I'm a tad biased, but I thought the new edge mustangs had better styling interior/exterior, better power, and a smoother ride....

I like the new edge stangs a lot more than the 05-09 as well. Though, I do like the '10+ a lot. Good luck finding a nice new edge gt.

Thanks, I was actually looking at the 99-04 Gt's. I found one it's a 2000 for $6000 with a clear title, but it has 130k miles . Is that too many miles? It's nice, it drives good, body is straight, well maintained...what do you think?
