Just got Ultimate last night. No better OS has been made yet IMO. I love the fun window-dragging options like side-by-side stacking.

Wait what one is better, Pro or Ultimate?
I'm still debating if I want to download it and install it on my old *** computer. Does it work with 32bit?

I'm sorry, but Dell's suck badly. The Alienware's aren't to bad, even though it's owned by Dell.

Wrong.

Dells are good, basic Pc's... Im typing on a 7 year old one now that has never fucked up.

I just bought a new Dell last week... its badass. They use Intel MOBOs now, beter than what they used to use. They use decent parts all around. their cust support does suck tho...outsourced to retards.

So I agree with ^^

Dells are awesome. 7 > Vista. It works with 32 bit or 64 bit; it can install either choice.
7 is exactly 433,000,000% faster than vista at boot up. It boots up on my 4 year old laptop in 23 seconds!
Managing windows is more seamless, and it's a lot safer against viruses and such

It does boot fast... im in the 15 second range. I went from XP to 7...I have used Vista for about 20 minutes in my whole life. I was worried that 7 was gonna be like Vista, as my 20 minute experience was terrible and I decided then to wait for whatever was gonna be next... 7 takes the nice stuff about XP and the nice stuff about Vista and adds some cool details and functions.

to be honest 7 is vista 2.0, they did a major overhaul and got the name vista out of the way for people to try it. Why i know this? i did some beta testing. Its in EVERY way better than vista. The most annoying thing that ALWAYS happened to me with vista was driver problems. For example, i use a logitec G5 mouse. I plugged it in, updated it using logitecs software, adjusted my DPI etc, all perfect, restart it says you need to install drivers for you device, i click no because its fine then all of a sudden my mouse just turns off and quits, only way to fix it was to go thru device manager and roll back drivers. annoyed me.. BTW i used the student discount, all u need is a .edu email to do it, and get pro for 30$$.. its an upgrade and theres ways to cheat it and do clean install.

I have a free upgrade waiting for me since I just bought my Dell laptop, with Vista Home Premium, in August. I'm too afraid to download it.

The thing with Microsoft is that the release their products with minimal troubleshooting. Every time you have to manually close a program, via Windows Task Manager, it prompt window pops up asking you if you would like to send this problem to Microsoft. This is their idea of troubleshooting.

"Let's let the customers do the testing. When they have a problem, we'll fix it and say that the customers took part in helping is form our newer OS..."

No matter what, I love Vista. I've used a Mac before and it's just so foreign and I don't like it. Microsoft FTMFW.

I never had issues with Vista. For me, it worked just as well as XP. Yes the boot up takes awhile, but I usually just hibernate the computer anyways. I may switch over to 7, but I don't really want to pay for it.

just like me blackstang, i never had a problem with it other than driver issues on my custom things. i actually did a clean install of 7 over my vista ulitmate that i have had installed on my pc since release and it hadnt crashed. sure it was getting slow after a few years off adding keys into the registry but it worked fine, also i even changed my motherboard, processor and ram in it without formatting, it was stable as can be.. ive had my netbook 6 months and ive already had to reformat it. vista was good but people just didnt have pc's that could run it well.
