Question about buying another car

hey guys im looking to purchase a 98 cobra and have my v6 as my daily driver but im not gonna want to put the cobra on the road for a few years id start it up and drive it a little weekly just to get it good and all but. what im really asking is would i have to get this car inspected and get insurance on it or could i just buy it and register it a ways down the road without paying any penalty's hopefully someone knows what im talking about im kinda confused about it

you have to register it. as for insurance, if you have a loan on it the lender may require you to keep full insurance. if there is no loan then you could probably hey put liability on it and call ti a day
you would have to check with your local laws though. if you have an insurance agent ask them, they should be able to tell you

You have to have insurance on any car you want to drive. And by inspected do you mean have emissions checked? If that's what you meant, the answer depends on the rules where you live...ie: if your town says you have to get your emissions checked before you can get your license plates or registration, then yes and vice versa.

Just make the 98 Cobra your daily driver. Hell it's almost a 12 yr old car.. Buy a car and drive it, unless you can afford insurance and stuff for 2 .. Or a place to store it and restore it, if that's your plan. But if you want to drive it, it needs tags, and all the nice things you gotta have to Get tags.. ;)

Idk about laws where you live but In Florida you don't even need it to be plated and registered if you don't drive it. But in Florida if you register a car you need insurance.

I would run all this by your agent and the lender. I would not say anythimg to the DMV. I think the lender is going to have the final say so on this.

i was gonna restore the cobra and i didn't mean to drive it anywhere i got a 2 mile long road on the farm that leads to some fields that's what i ment by driving it.. it wouldn't go onto any roads off my property just to keep it in working fashion and not have to do all that stuff for storing it
