Meteor Shower.
Its going on right now. Or just beginning. I havent seen any yet. Its supposed to be most prominent at 3am.and be ending around 6 or not visible. If your up check it out and have a camera ready. They are supposed to be traveling at 41.6 miles per second. and getting around 50-60 meteors per hour. Hopefully someone obtains some nice pictures. TEST THOSE SLR'S GUYS!

Damn, wish I would have known about this sooner. I need to study tonight.

you got plenty of time, the peak is at 3 am. supposivly. Just take some time to look. I seen one just a second ago, and it'd be difficult to catch one on camera. just looks like a big pile of dust getting throw in the air in a V

BTW look between mars and Orion.

(Though with lightning it's a bit easier cause you can just close the shutter right after the strike) |
For the most part, the last few Big meteor showers have been busts. Unless you're in a very remote part of your state, away from any glow from cities or towns, you won't get the full effect. You may see 5 or 6 an hour, maybe about 1 or 2 really bright ones, but I've sat through some of the events and was sorely disappointed. only saw a few small streaks and maybe one that lasted for 3 seconds.. But I have alot of light pollution here too. :(
