"New" Mustang specs 2011
http://www.leftlanenews.com/2011-for...t-the-web.html
apparently the v6 is getting 315 HP da da da damn and the GT with the track pack can take an M3 |
Damn the bastards that decided not to put the ecoboost in the V6.
Edit- They should have just lowered the boost and detuned the ecoboost to make around 300HP and used it. |
The ecoboost would have just upped the price. Slap some nitrous on it and you will have your boost when you need it and 315 hp when you don't
besides I would much rather have a 315 hp NA motor than a 315 HP boosted motor |
awesome. I cant wait to see the new 5.0
|
I'm excited about the 5.0 but I gotta be honest I'm really really excited about that 3.7 cause when I turn 25 in at the end of 2011 I may be able to get a used one for around 19k and have 315 hp without the GT insurance price tag
|
I wonder how many people will swap them into the 05-10 in place of the 4.0
I bet people put the 5.0 and 6 speed in the 2010s instead of the 4.6 if it's the new GT and f-150 engine there will be tens of thousands of them out there as soon as 2011 hits some of them will get wrecked and end up in the junkyard fresh for the picking |
Fo sho. Yeah if i upgrade my 07 v6 for anything it will be a GT. I think i will just keep my V6 as a DD and get a GT. dont know if it will be the 5.0 or not cause the other will be cheap when the 5.0 comes out!
|
I can't wait for that 5.0
|
I'm not going to have a stock V6 walking all over my V8. Lucky me, I have already started plans and funds for the KB 2.6 Stage 1 kit. Car should be finished completely by next Christmas. :)
|
dammit those new cars are gonna make my 03 v6 with 160rwhp look like a damn joke. :help:

You will probably still have them stock for stock because of the V8's TQ but I don't think those v6 are going to be as heavy as your 4.6 so it would be really close

Yes, those thoughts have crossed my mind... but a supercharger would take care of all that 'close' bullshit. :p

See brake hp is misleading because it's not the power you have at the brakes
trust me fly wheel hp is more accepted here Top gear just has alot of people refering to it as brake hp |
+1 i am definitely gonna get me one, but it will most likely be a 6er still. But hey with 315hp thats not bad at all, I would exactly call it a slouch. But my wife wants a toy too even tho we still got 2 yrs left on a 3yr note for her milan. She wants a camaro..NOOOOOO . i told her there is no way that damn thing is sitting in my driveway freaking traitor :D

Yeah, but not when you write it like fwhp. Let's look at it this way:

All you guys talking about the sixxers having all this power.. lolz.. They still won't have any Tq. and trust me, the GeeeTeee's aint skeerd. I'm guessing that Ford has gone to a higher-revving, smaller C.I. engine to make more power and be more fuel efficient, which is cool, but that means that they will have to run up to 6-7k RPM before reaching any kind of real power. And as far as the Insurance side, a Mustang is a Mustang, the only reason why the "base" models are any cheaper at all is because they're not rated as "High Performance" but if they really do start pumping out 300+ hp, you will see that change. Might as well get a GT. |

(Hate to say, that KB you'll hit 11s with the amount of boost you can throw at it, unless you wanna get "unsafe") If this new v6 shit is true, a nice shot of nitrous should very well put it around that playing field... As far as the insurance thing goes, well, my insurance company told me exactly what WNR said "A mustang is a mustang, doesn't matter if its a GT, a Mach, or a Cobra, you are getting charged as it being a mustang." All in all, I see the new v6 as being a 14 second car, tops. The 5.0 with the way Ford does their tuning ect, 13s. They'll do just enough to keep up with the slowmaros and the challenged challenger.. Note: my numbers are based off of what I've seen at the track... of course, these guys can't be like all the guys around here running mid 13s on stock GTs :sarcasm: |

I'm not trying to be mean either, but don't worry about what I'm going to do with my car. I shouldn't have to justify getting one. Just because I won't be taking it to the track at every waking moment of my life does not mean I won't be using it. I can open it up just as much on the backroads in the boonies as I can on the track. When someone else wants to pay my bills, they will be more than welcome to make the decisions for me. Until then, I will do what I like to my car and I don't give two fucks and a bitch slap if anyone else likes it or not. :) |
