New job SUCKS.

So I have recently started a new job, tomorrow will be my fifth day and I fucking HATE it.
Basically I work for a tent rental company which I never even knew existed, but since Ive started working there apparently theres a bunch in this area. Now....my job consists of waking up at about 4,5,6,or 7 in the morning (it varies), going to a warehouse, loading up tents that come in all kinds of crazy shapes and sizes, driving to where we have to set them up, and then spending 14 HOURS in the hot ass florida sun setting the up, and NOTHING I work with is easy, or light.Pretty much, all the crap I work with weighs over 85 pounds........and lifitng heavy things for 14, sometimes 15 hours a day takes its toll. Especially when I have to do it 7 days a week...I MAY get an occasional ONE day off every other week. So pretty much, I wake up, go to work, come back home, go to bed, repeat. Now I am ONLY doing this over the summer seeing as how its the busy season, but thats the worst part about it. The HEAT. BUT....the best part about this job is the fact that I make over $100 a day, and I mostly get 60 to 70 hours a week, and thats time in a half!
So even though I hate this damn job...Ill be rolling in some money here pretty soon which means...MODS!!!!!! Now, Im definately a go before show guy, so what do you guys think I should buy first. I already got the AM intake. Just throw some ideas out there, cause Im finally making enough money to work on the car!!!

04Roush2 04-25-2009 07:45 PM

Good thing it's only during the summer because I'd be like "fuck that" if I was doing that 7 days a week and also good that it pays good. But, you gotta be careful. That kind of heavy lifting can take a toll on your back. It sucks because I got a bad back and I get this pain somedays that I can't even get up.

NeedACobra 04-25-2009 07:46 PM

Oh, Ive had a bad back since highschool.
It aint easy.

04Roush2 04-25-2009 07:47 PM

So even more, you should be careful

audikillsbmw 04-25-2009 07:48 PM

As much as that sounds like it sucks, you have to admit that it could be worse. Considering how high the unemployment rates are right now, I'd say that anyone with a job should be happy that they have one. I spent 7 months unemployed a while back, and I swear I almost went insane.

04Roush2 04-25-2009 07:49 PM

That's why I'm still in the Army. Job security, benefits, etc.

cpthowdy 04-25-2009 07:49 PM

fuck that shit, i'll quit.lol

NeedACobra 04-25-2009 07:55 PM

Yeah, man, I quit my last job to work where Im at now cause I was only making like...170 after taxes at 26 hours a week. I only worked mon-thurs, so that was cool. fri-sun off every week.
But ahhh, that wasnt cutting it. I make like...120 a day at this new place so. Yeah. Its hard fucking work, but it'll do for now.

Slim03GT 04-25-2009 08:00 PM

When your pimpin' the Cobra....it will all be worth it.

I've been unemployed since November, so I feel you there. I completely agree that anyone with a job, no matter how much it sucks should be grateful that they've got one because some people (like myself) who really NEED one, can't have it.

NeedACobra 04-25-2009 08:16 PM

Yeah, man..I got lucky with all my jobs, haha. Ive always got them because Ive known the right people.
Like the guy Im working for now is like good friends with my brother and my cousins. Went to school with them, and so I pretty much got the job through them. Its starting to piss me off though cause hes a cool dude, and all the supervisors that work for him talk made shit about him cause they say he doesnt know what he doing, but...dudes been doing the shit for years now. I think they're just pissed cause he's only 22, and is already a damn millionaire, and they're all almost 30, and struggle to pay the bills. Im already close to punching one of the supervisors that I ALWAYS get stuck with right in the fuckin teeth and I probably wouldnt get fired over it. Haha. He's always a dick though about showing me what I have to do,like I should have known the shit from birth. I mean, fuck. Ive only been working this job for FOUR days.

SeanStang 04-25-2009 08:44 PM

Good money, but demanding job. Sounds like this job will keep you in shape and give you one hell of a tan lol. There's always gunna be at least one douche bag at any job, in my case there are 6.

01FR500 04-25-2009 09:28 PM

Gotta suck it up and make that money. I spent one summer rebuilding engines which included lifting 50+lb cylinder heads around all day long, moving engine blocks, smashing my fingers, breathing metal dust all day, and not in an air conditioned shop, but I learned a lot and it was a good paying job. Lifting heavy crap all day gets old, especialy when it is 100+ outside.

SnTBakosFinest 04-25-2009 11:53 PM

Theres plenty of other sources of income other than earned. Hmm, all that money spent on college, and all the taxes your going to pay when you get your job.

May want to think of other ways to generate cash flow! lol.

NeedACobra 04-26-2009 07:11 PM

Heh. Today wasnt too bad. I work with some of the guys that were around my age who were crackin me the fuck up. And all we had to do was take two big tents down, and put on big tent up. Takin em downs nice and quick. Now trying to put a 40x120 or whatever the fuck it was tent when the winds blowing like 15-20 miles an hour is a PAIN IN THE ASS. But yeah. I get my first check next tuesday so I should be pretty happy. As for the tan, and the muscles, yeah. Its definately gonna happen. Except Im fucking BURNT so bad right now, and thats whats making this job suck so bad right now.

Not really (at least not around here.) Instead of hiring new people, a lot of fast food places are just forcing their current employees to work more hours.

PistonsFan102 04-26-2009 08:18 PM

If your not in school or anything then I would just work and BANK while you can.

At least it's a job, but man, I don't think I could work 14 hours a day 7 days a week for just $120 a day. Thats a lot of damn work.

I couldn't either... but that's only because I'm lazy.

PistonsFan102 04-27-2009 10:04 AM

Are you getting pay and a half for overtime?

Because you would be working 58 hours of overtime, insane.

Haha, I could do the work, just not for that money.

Lazerred6 04-27-2009 12:52 PM

I can't complain about my job. They pay well and they used to give me 60% tuition reimbersment but they just recently changed their policy and now pay 100% as long as you are going for something medical related. Well I'm in it for radiology so I'm doing alright. this winter I will graduate with my BMS degree and can apply to a 2 year rad tech school and my job will pay that for me too. I have exactly 0.00$ in college loans:cool:

Thats a good career to go into. They get paid well and its usually pretty easy to find a job. I work in healthcare as well, more behind the scenes though. Can't complain about good pay and full benefits that I pay zip for. My healthcare organization is starting to lead the way for health care in the US.
