going to devry.
yep. doing some schooling. Network Systems Administrator, associates degree. paying for it through loans and GI bill. feels great, gonna be free of dead end jobs. :)

school ftw!

isnt devry one of those schools that has late night commercials for pregnant bitches that work 50 hour weeks?

devry has a fantastic program for IT/Network administration. I wouldn't laugh at someone that went through their program and got a degree from it and I'm the kind of guy that hires said graduates. Devry is not a university and you won't learn english or history. You will learn from people who have day-jobs in the industry though and you'll come out with a solid base of skill that you can build on for the rest of your life.
You made a really smart move. This is a career, not a job. Keep in mind that your first "job" will probably pay for shit but you need to spend a couple years eating the crap work to learn all the stuff that will carry you through the rest of your life. I've been a UNIX/Windows/Network admin for about 15 years. Some jobs suck, others rock but they all leave your hands clean at the end of the day and your clothes never smell like french fries. |
I plan on doing the same when i move back to the states. hopefully i can knock out the degree before i seperate from the air force.

The secret to not getting banned is don't be a dick and don't ever ever attack a mod in an open forum. |
