Default I just spent the entire night working on a friend's car

Trying to get the water pump and timing belt replaced by the time spring break is over so my friend can take his Passat back to gainesville. After getting 1 hour of sleep Tues night, and aftter getting back from the beach at 5pm, we worked on his car till 9pm, went to a movie, resumed at 1230am and continued until 7am. Now I'm back home and ready to sleep till 12, then back to the beach...then back to the car.

Never buy a passat/s4. His car isn't like ANY of the examples in the haynes manual, and every online guide out there. His water pump is driven by the timing belt and NOT the accessory belt like every other passat in the world, and has a completely different timing belt tensioner than anything else, as well as thermostat location. The lack of standardization in these cars is ******* comical, how much of a ******* ******* does VW have to be to make such huge variations in the 1.8T model passats from 01-05. It's ridiculous. We DID however get the new water pump and timing belt in, now we just have to put the fan back on, and push the radiator/plastic shroud/intercooler/etc plastic **** (known as the 'LC') back into the "non-service" position and attach the front bumper and put the headlights back in and then see if the god damn thing works. Oh yeah, any car that you have to remove the front bumper in order to change the headlighs, imo, is not a good car.

The only thing I've eaten since waffle house at 130 am wednesday morning has been a brownie, a burrito from taco bell, and a banana, and I'm god damn exhausted right now.

I can't tell you have many late nights I have spent in the garage with friends. Its really the best part of messing with cars and friends.

When I was doing Teals motor swap were were up till say 3-5am 3 weekends in a row it was wild all while going out and partying before hand too.
